Information about me, Housemusic etc.

My name is Bram. I live in the South-East of The Netherlands. My favourite music is (ofcourse) Housemusic. I like hardtrance and techno the best.

THE HISTORY OF HOUSE.

In the end of the 80's there's coming up a new kind of music. It was played first in a disco in Chicago called "The Warehouse". House music is named after this disco. You can recognise is by its very hard beats. House became very popular and it splitted up in different directions such as: Club, Trance, Techno. In The Netherlands House became popular too in the beginning of the 90's. In Rotterdam (a city in The Netherlands in case you didn't know) some people wanted the music harder and harder. A new kind of housemusic was born: Gabber house. This music is very fast and very hard. Gabber-house(it's also called Hardcore) splitted up in different directions. Now there is:

1) Oldsschool Hardcore(The first hardcore from about 1993/1994)

2) Happy Hardcore(Funny melodies, very popular in the UK)

3) Newstyle(A newer kind of hardcore, slow, about 130 BPM, but very dark and hard)

4) Midtempo hardcore(Just the regular hardcore, about180 BPM)

5) Terror(Fast hardcore and very hard, about 200/250 BPM)

6) Speedcore(Very fast hardcore and even harder than terror, about 250 BPM and way up)

In short this are about all of the kinds of house: Club, Trance, Techno, Gabber, Hardtrance, Hardhouse, Chemical, Big Beat, Drum 'n Bass.

House music is played at different locations. Trance and club is most played in Disco's, the rest is played only at socalled Houseparties. A big Houseparty in The Netherlands is "Mysteryland, The European Dance Festival". This year there were 6 halls, all with different styles like: Hardcore. Hardtrance, Trance, Techno, Club and Chemical. There were about 30.000 visitors. Other parties are: Shadowlands and Digital Overdose (Both hardcore), Shockers(Techno and Hardtrance) and Trance Energy(Trance). Parties outside The Netherlands are: The Loveparade in Berlin, Germany(All styles of Housemusic), The street parade in Zürich, Switzerland(All styles of Housemusic too)
