Descendants of Jacob MILLER

Jacob MILLER-68 was born 22 Oct 1697 in Germany. He died 18 Dec 1777 in PA.
John Miller emigrated September 19, 1732 on the ship "Pink Johnson" to Pennsylvaina.
Jacob was a tanner and a farmer in Berks County Pa. His tannery continued in the family for 150 years.
They lived a few miles west of the town of Bernville. the family attended the Lutheran Church of
the Christ Little Tulpehocken near Bernville, Pa. many of the Millers are buried there.
There were six children not named in the will fo 1766. They may have died before the will was made.
Names of wives or grandchildren were not given.

Catharine was born Oct 1699 in Germany.
She died 15 Apr 1777 in PA.

They had the following children:

John Jacob MILLER-70 was born 24 Sep 1728 in Germany.
John MILLER-71 was born 9 Nov 1733 in PA.
Mary Elizabeth Barbara MILLER-72 was born 9 Sep 1736 in PA.
Matthias MILLER-62 was born 1743 and died 1805.

Matthias MILLER-62 was born 1743 in PA. He died 1805 in VA and was buried in Radar Cemetery.
Matthias Miller was married four times, and had a total of 17 children.
Matthias was named by his father as executor of his will. He served in the Pennsylvania
Militia during the Revolutionary War as a private.
Circa 1794 he sold his farm in Pennsylvania and moved to Fort Run near Timberville, VA. where he bought
a farm from Anthony Rader. He was an active member of the Rader Lutheran Church.
Many of his seventeen children moved to Rockingham Co. VA before or soon after he did and began
to buy land in their name. Before his death Matthias owned over 1000 acres of land and some of his
children are buried in the old cemetery at Rader Church.

Matthias married (1-MRIN:9) Catherine AULENBACH-63 on 1777 in PA. Catherine died 1782 in PA.

Matthias also married (2-MRIN:29) Susanna Catherine MUELLER-138 about 1762 in PA.
Susanna was born 1740 in PA. She died 1777 in PA.

They had the following children:

John(Johannes) MILLER-143 was born 1766 in PA.
Catherine Charlotte MILLER-144 was born 1771 in PA.

Matthias also married (3-MRIN:30) Mary Elizabeth UNKNOWN-139 in PA. Mary died 1789. They had the following children:

Conrad MILLER-149 was born 1789.

Matthias also married (4-MRIN:31) Anna Maria Moyers SCHAFFER-140. Anna was born 1753. She died 1815.
They had the following children:

Michael MILLER-150 was born 1790.

Michael Miller married twice. He married Elizabeth Trout, she was born 1793, the daughter of Michael Trout
and Elizabeth Bear. Elizabeth died in 1855. The then married a Mrs Teresa Brown, she died in 1878.
Michael and Elizabeth moved to Roanoake Va around 1814 and located in the area where the Vetrans
Facility now stands (1986). They were successful farmers and active Lutheran church leaders.
Miller Hall at Roanoake College was named in honor of Michael Miller who was active in the founding of the college.

Mary(Polly) MILLER-151 was born 1792.
Mary (Polly) Miller married George Trout. George was born in 1782 the son of Michael Trough and Elizabeth Baer.
George died in 1850. Mary and George were farming and were Lutheran church leaders. They resided
just east of Salem VA adjoining Michael Miller. Trout Hall at Roanoke College is names for this family.
Along with Michael Miller, Mary's brother, the Trouts were among the founders of the college.

1858 in Pine Station, Clinton Co. PA. She died May 1954 in Waterford CA.

SWEETMAN-74 (MRIN:11) on 1907 in Elmwood Nebraska. William was born 8 Jan 1883 in Maine Station IA.
He died 30 Mar 1952 in Ashland NE.
At some point after 1900 Fielding and Mary Ellen separated, she went to Alvo or Elmwood Nebraska
with son William and lived near or with two of her daughters. Fielding is listed on the 1900
census in the household of his son Thomas Sweetman Jones. Death records for Fielding who died
in 1902 state that he was a widower.

William and Etta had the following children:

Because of name collectors, and others who must glean information from others hard work and research and not do the work themselves, I have removed the names of the children of William and Etta Jones. Some of them are still living and do not appreciate their names being posted on the net.
