In 1954 Delta Zeta adopted Gallaudet as one of its national philanthropies. Since then, the women of Delta Zeta have strived to keep this amazing university going through monetary and material donations. We have contributed books for the Gallaudet Libraries, established scholarship funds, and supported the Gallaudet Dance Company.
We believe that Gallaudet exemplifies the values of what a true Delta Zeta member should be. The students at Gallaudet University have been able to overcome their disabilities and have led completely normal lives. They have exceeded any expectations that have been stereotypically placed upon the deaf community. Thanks to the founders of the university, they have been able to attend college and live in an environment that satisfies their needs. Gallaudet has been around for almost 150 years, and with the help of Delta Zeta, will continue to be around for many years to come.
