Dinner is just about to begin, so while we eat, let us get to know each other better! I will tell you a bit about myself, and I would love to hear more about you if you would sign my guestbook in the portico as soon as we are finished.
Well, after a hiatus of almost 5 years, I am back. I have left my home of Pennsylvania and am now married and living in New Jersey. I have done a total shift of careers and have ended up at a medical equipment company. I also play the piano, and I sing backup in my husband's band (see his website). My latest venture is my new blog for vintage photos, ads, fashion, postcards, and magazines, Vintage 123.
However, much of the information I had included on this web site in the past remains the same. I love to read, so for my major in college it didn't take me long to settle on English literature. I graduated from Franciscan University with my bachelor's degree. After that, I took graduate classes in English at The University of Dallas before transferring back to Pennsylvania and switching my graduate studies to Communication/ Advertising at California University of Pennsylvania. I am enamoured with books that bring to life other cultures in today's world, by authors such as Jhumpa Lahiri and Khaled Hosseini. Haruki Murakami is definitely my favorite author, however.
Music is also a favorite pastime of mine. I've played the piano since I was eight years old. Also, some of my favorite musical artists are Loreena McKennitt, Natacha Atlas, Ben Folds Five, Mike Kovacs, (of course!), Beethoven, and Weird Al Yankovic.. An old favorite of mine is a group called Synaulia, a group of excellent musicians. They perform what they imagine ancient Roman music must have sounded like, and the results are very haunting and mystical...it is easy to imagine yourself to be in another time when you listen to their songs.
Art is always an interest of mine. My favorite artists are Vincent Van Gogh and especially Gustav Klimt.
Finally, my great love is travel. I took my first trip to Europe in 1999, in which I visited Italy and Malta (photos are on the website). For my honeymoon several years ago, we went back to Rome, but I was also able to visit Pompeii and Assisi for the first time. Other trips include Seattle, Tampa, Pittsburgh (my hometown!), Cape May, Minneapolis, Malta, Paris, and Buenos Aires.
Thank you so much for continuing to visit my site. I would love it if you would take a moment to sign my guestbook so I can learn a bit about you as well!
I hope you enjoy your time here.
