The Library

I see that you have decided to do some reading here in the library!

Please, come in and have a seat. I will have one
of the servants bring you an oil lamp. You will not
be disturbed here, so please choose a scroll and relax!

On this scroll, you will find a list of some of my favorite books; all are historical fiction set in ancient Greece or Rome.

This scroll contains some original historical fiction that I have written. I have been so busy running around Rome doing my errands lately, though, that unfortunately there are only a few chapters right now. But be assured I do plan to finish the story!

I discovered the following words in a letter written by Pliny the Younger, and I thought it was quite appropriate for this room! You can see it hanging on the wall in front of you, in a golden frame:

Leave behind, Fundanus, as soon as you can, the noise
and the meaningless running about and the really silly
occupations of the city, and exchange them for leisure
and for time to read.
