Here we are in my household shrine. I come here with my family to honor our household's gods. This is the place where we can find out more about the gods, and about ancient religion.

The Greeks and the Romans considered their gods to be very much like ordinary humans. They experienced very human emotions, like envy, love, fear, and suspicion. The gods were, for the most part, truly interested in mankind and many felt especially close to humans. However, especially in the case of more minor gods, people only worshipped those deities most in tune with their own lives.
