In 1958 Chevrolet made many changes to the full-size car line. To say they changed everything would be correct. There was a new model, engine, frame, sheet metal and even the series designations. The 1958 was 209 inches long, 77.7 inches wide and 57 inches high.

The Turbo Fire 2v 283 V8 185hp @4600 rpm, Turbo Fire 4v 283 V8 230hp @4800rpm, RamJet Fuel Injection 283 V8 250hp @5000rpm, Super RamJet Fuel Injection 283 V8 290hp @ 6200rpm, Turbo Thrust 348 V8 4v 250hp @4400rpm, Super Turbo Thrust 348 V8 3x2v 280hp @4800rpm, the hottest engine was the 348 V8 3x2v 315hp @5600rpm.

The Impala for 1958 was available in a convertible and 2dr hardtop.
