MR. FREEZE
Mr. Freeze's condition has deteriorated to the point where his entire body had to amputated. Believing that his wife could never accept the freak he had become, he left her and she moved on. Out of all of Batman's opponents, his life is probably the most tragic.

When Mike Morgan, Mary Michaels, and Stuart Lows were hit by radiation, they were transformed into the Terrific Trio! The Trio consisted of 2-D Man (Lows), Freon (Michaels), and Magma (Morgan). They soon gained the public's trust and admiration as Gotham's new heroes. However, after they learned that their friend Howard Hodges had betrayed them, they quickly became vengeful. The Trio discovered that their unstable DNA would eventually kill them and decided to take Gotham and Hodges with them. Fortunately, Batman managed to defeat the Trio, but in the fight, the three former heroes perished.
BIG TIME
Big Time started out life as Charlie Bigelow, a tough, big-talking kid who grew up with Terry McGinnis. Charlie was always angling for a leg up-either legal or illegal-and he easily enticed young Terry into a bit of petty theft. When they were caught, Terry spent a few months in juvenile hall. But Charlie was old enough to be tried as an adult. He went to prison.
Once out of the big house, Charlie put the touch on old friend Terry. Stricken by guilt, Terry used his influence to land Charlie a job at Wayne Enterprises. But Charlie was still only interested in the big score, and he used his security clearance to help some crooks steal the company's experimental growth hormone. When Batman arrived to stop the theft, the growth hormone accidentally spilled on Charlie-with horrendous results.
Charlie's dark inner nature now has a physical manifestation. He's Big Time, a grotesque, malformed giant with super-human strength who has one goal in life: to seek revenge against Batman.
Meanwhile, Charlie/Big Time continues to have a love-hate relationship with his childhood friend, Terry McGinnis, unaware that Terry and Batman are one and the same.

The chemicals soaked the ground and his body, merging the two, spreading Maychek's conscience throughout the very dirt his body disintegrated into. After years of laying dormant, Maycheck built up enough energy in his body to lash out at those he thought betrayed him, those he believed causing his tragic accident. This lead to a deadly confrontation with Batman, a confrontation that finally brought his conscience peace.
