A Dream

Smooth wooden board hung from coarse rope,

    Tail of excited dog.

    --

Slightly steep hill seems to be wave,

    Frozen into its place.

    --

Outstretched roots are like someone's arms,

    Reaching out for comfort.

    --

    Playful birds chirping like whistle,

    Being blown across space.

    --

    Creaking, sturdy, upright tree trunks,

    Wind telling her story.

    --

Air carries cent of pine tree sap,

    Blanket surrounding world.

    --

Tiny, crawling ants form a line,

    Soldiers into battle.

    --

Air becomes wind pushing back hair,

    It's dancing behind me.

    --

Drops of dew, like a baby's tears,

    Crystal outline of web.

    --

Gripping fragile life of tree leaf,

    Like Grasping onto time.

    --

At tip, branches hold leaf bushels,

    Weaved in a tangeld web.

    --

    Taste sweetness of morning moisture.

    Wind sings its peaceful song.

    --

    The clearing into time.
