William Thomas Coonts, 75 Drury, MO. died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday at Magic Valley Memorial hospital following an illness of two months. Mr. Coonts had been visiting friends and relatives in Twin Falls for the past two weeks. He was born June 26, 1880, in Tedrick, MO. and was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Zada Lee Coonts, Drury ; three sons. Ted Coonts, Twin Falls; William E. Coonts, Hansen; and Donald R. Coonts, Buffalo, Iowa; five daughters. Mrs. Opal Pamperien and Mrs. Margaret Pamperien, both Buckhart, MO.; Mrs. Ermal Pamperien and Mrs. Phyllis Scott, both Wilder; and Mrs. Ada Wagner, Parma; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death. Also surviving are three brothers, Abraham Coonts, Commerce, Okla.; and Alfred Coonts and Arthur Coonts both Evans, MO and five sisters, Della Coonts and Mrs. Delcie Fry both Ava, MO.Mrs. Ella Welsmer of Nyssa, Ore. ; Mrs. Hannah Chaney, Cheyenne, Wyo. and Mrs. Rebecca Keller, Mountain Grove, MO.

Funeral services have been announced by Reynolds funeral home for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Baptist church, Mountain Grove, MO. Final rites will be held at the New Hope cemetery, Drury MO.

Services Held Thursday For Thomas Coonts

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, May 24, in the New Hope Church for Thomas W. Coonts.

Rev. W H Stephens officiated at the service and music was provided by Dale Uhlmann, Richard Uhlmann, Troy Hancock and Dave Uhlmann.

Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Barber Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Burl Coonts, Harley Coonts, Willard Coonts, Daniel Coonts, Van Pamperien and Bobby Pamperien. Serving as honarary pallbearers were Tom Dobbs, Tom Hancock, Everett Tate, John Hicks, Howard Proctor and Ray Alsup.

Thomas William Coonts lovingly called "Uncle Tom" by those who know and loved him best. Was the son of John and Margaret Wilson. He was born June 21, 1880 in Douglas County, Missouri and passed away in Twin Falls, Idaho May 20, 1956, his age beging 75 years, 8 months, 29 days,

He lived his entire lifetime in Douglas County and only two weeks previous to his death he and his wife went to Idaho for a visit with their children, hoping his health would improve.

He was united in marriage with Sadie Rhoades February 28, 1909 and to this union ten childred were born, two of whom preceded him in death in their infancy. Those who survived him are five daughters and three sons: Mrs. Opal Pamperien and Mrs. Margaret Pamperien of Buckhart, Missouri, Mrs. Ermal Pamperien and Mrs. Phyllis Scott of Wilder, Idaho, Mrs Ada Wagner of Parma, Idaho, Mr. Ted Coonts and William Coonts of Twin Falls, Idaho and Donald Ray Coonts of Buffalo, Iowa.

He was converted in 1928 and in 1940 placed his membership in the Pleasant Home Free Will Baptist Church where it remained at the time of his passing. He was a faithful member of the church and its teachings and his faith was a great consolation to him.

In additoon to his wife, Mrs. Sadie Coonts and his children, he is also survived by 19 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers, many more distant relatives and a host of good friends. Two grandchilren Joyce Faye Buttts and Fern Lee Pamperien proceded him in death.

Alfed K. Coonts, 76, a retired farmer of Brushyknob Community east of Ava, died at 4 a.m. yesterday in Burge-Protestant Hospital in Springfield, where he had been a patient a week.

He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Services for Harry L. Coonts, 65, who died Friday at his home near Ripley, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Strode Chapel.

Services will be led by direction of Rev. Dale Patton. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. A graveside military service will be held by the Ollie Dykes Post 2027 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Coonts was born at Ava, Mo. on April 21, 1890 and was married to Goldie Baker on May 28, 1919 at Stillwater. He came to Oklahoma in 1917 and has made his home southeast of Stillwater since that time.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Farmer's Union.

Services for Arthur W. Coonts, 92, Norwood, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Revs. Tom Johnson and Raymond Haden officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Coonts died at 6:30 a.m. Dec. 31, 1986 at Mercy Hospital, Mansfiekd, following a long illness. He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of W W I. He was Baptist.

Born June 28, 1894 in Douglas County, he was the son of John and Margaret Wilson Coonts. He married Carrie Lee Rhoades on Jan. 18, 1920 in Douglas County. She preceded him in death April 23, 1974.

Surviving are seven sons, Cecil and Paul, both of Wilder, Idaho, Harley and James bothe of Ava, Russell, Springfield, Nebr., Junior, Buffalo, Iowa, and Jackie, Norwood; five daughters, Edwina Schrock, Wilton, Iowa, Vernice DeHaven and LaVern Brown, both of Sedalia, Betty Critten, Trenton and Peggy Bell, Ava; two sisters, Mrs Hannah Chaney, Cheyenne, Wyo. and Mrs. Ella Tyner, TwinFalls, Idaho; 39 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.

One daughter, two sisters, and four brothers preceded him in death, as did his parents.

Funeral services for Carrie Lee Coonts, 75, a long time resident of Douglas County, will be held on Friday, April 26, 1974, at 2 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Chapel in Ava.

Rev. Oscar Cunningham will officiate and burial will follow at the New Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Coonts died April 23, 1974, following a stay of ten days in the Saint John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born December 30, 1898, in Douglas County, the daughter of Sidney Hutchison Rhoades and Daniel B. Rhoades. On January 18, 1920, she married Arthur Coonts, who survives in Douglas County.

In addition to her husband she is survived by twelve childred; Cecil Coonts of Wilder, Idaho; Harley Coonts of Drury; Paul Coonts of Wilder, Idaho; Edwina Rogers of Buffalo, Iowa; Russell Coonts of Springfield, Nebr.; Junior Coonts of Buffalo, Iowa; Vernice DeHaven of Sedalia, MO; James Coonts of Buffalo, Iowa; LaVern Brown of Dover, Delaware; Betty Critten of Trenton, MO; Peggy Bell of Lanark, Illinois; and Jackie Coonts of the home; 37 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchilren.

Also surviving are four sisters; Mrs. Daisy Strong of Norwood, Mrs.Lena Elliott of Ava, Mrs. Elizabeth Walker of Exeter, Calif., and Mrs. Ruby York of Alton, Ill.

Mrs. Coonts was a member of the Baptist Church.
