Dropping The Atomic Bomb
On August 6, 1945, the city of Hiroshima was the target of the first atomic bomb used against civil population in history.
America was afriad to invade Japan because they were ferous warriors. They fought to the last to defend a volcanic island 8 miles long that had no use. If America would have invaded Japan an estimated 1/4 of a million soldiers would die. The decision had been made to drop an atomic bomb on Japan. The bomb destroyed Hiroshima instantly and killed 140,000 people. After dropping the bomb Japan started to think about surender, but it took a second bombing of Nagasaki to convince them.
