Appeasement
Before the war began Hitler was rising to power, as was his greed. When he had control of Germany he began anexing land around him. First he took Rhineland in 1936. Rhineland used to be part of Germany wich the treaty of Versailles had exluded them from. In 1938 he Annexed Austria and the Sudentenland. In the first stages of Hitler's power Great Britian and France decided to leave him alone and hope he would be satisfied. Unfortunatly this did not happen, in 1939 he invaded Poland. It was at this time that the British and the French declared war on the Axis.
