An explanation is in order. The Maia Project was something that was started by a group of scientists who discovered a way to 'harvest' vital body organs for those who need them in the western spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. In this time, year 1992 Galactic Calander, [or 4592 in the Earth Calandar,] organ doners are extremely rare to find. Everyone got the notion to keep what they have inside them. The Maia Project was to fix this. Clones were created, and given a growth alteration to make them rapidly grow to whatever age they desired before putting the clone in permanent Chryogenic Sleep. Each clone was genetically altered to have it grow up to look and be totally different than another clone. They had to have diversity among them in order to fill everyones needs. The Clones were never awake during the whole process. In fact, the clones never woke up period. They were kept asleep, and in Chrygenic sleep so they wouldnt develope their brains at all. Many people opposed the idea of using real people as a way to 'harvest' vital organs, but the idea that they never quite had a life in the first place kind of softened the blow for protestors against 'killing' the clones. Instead people felt more sorry for them. Protestors stopped altogether when they realized that they had no other choice but to let the Maia Project continue, or thousands upon thousands of needy people would die of needing transplants. Within time, a different group of scientists discovered a cheap and easy way to naturally grow vital organs within an hour or so. This reduces costs considerably, and no 'harvesting' is involved. The private fund to The Maia Project ceased and was given to the new project for its extreme efficiency. Each clone was given a special gene alteration to their skin. They altered their skin so natural 'tatoos' of bar-codes would appear on their bodies, giving easy to access, but visibly classified information on them. The bar codes they have on their bodies are as follows: A large bar-code on their Backs - Classifies Registration, Date of Creation, Est. Date of Expiration, Preferred nationality, and sector number. A long bar code on their left arms
