The day the dragons flew away
We found that we were all alone.
There were no words that we could say
Lamenting at an empty throne.
You gave us everything we had,
You gave us reason to be glad.
You gave us everything we knew,
Yet there was nothing we could do.
You left us lonely and bereft
Until we saw how much was left.
We looked hard at Your legacy
And thought of all that we could be.
We saw a new age at its birth,
An age of evil in the earth.
And we were sad upon that day,
The day the dragons flew away.
