Burgess Hill, Hassocks & District
Round Table was originally formed in 1962; spawned from Haywards
Heath Round Table (No 95) and with whom it was merged in 1998 to
form Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath & District Round
Table.
As our name suggests, this Round Table
covers a large area in the neighbourhood of both Burgess Hill and
Haywards Heath. This includes Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint and
Twineham in the south, through to Lindfield, Ardingly, West
Hoathly and Horsted Keynes in the north. We are part of a much
bigger organisation which has Round Tables situated throughout the
whole of the United Kingdom and all over the world.
So who are we? We are a
club of young men who share the desire to do more,
both on a social and charitable, community minded basis. As such,
it provides a means for sharing new experiences trying new
activities, meeting new people and helping in the local community
What sort of things do
we get involved with locally? We organise the Burgess Hill
Bike Ride, which has generated over £11,000 in the last two
years. We also organise a local Christmas collection throughout
December, which has raised over £5,000 in the last two years. The
monies raised from these events are then distributed to numerous
local charities and worthy causes. We held a very successful Bone
Marrow Clinic to find new donors for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow
Trust. We also organise an annual Senior Citizens Party.
These are just some examples of how we help our local community
