The test will cover items on both study guides:
8-2 Q-V, 25-38
8-3 A-W, 1-22
Essay Topics:
A) Was the failure of communism/animalism to create a more equal and just world due to inherent weaknesses in ideology or the poor execution of individuals? Use specific examples from Soviet history and Animal Farm to justify your answer.
B) Write an essay from the perspective of Josef Stalin justifying your actions in regard to collectivization, industrialization and the early Cold War. Make sure that you acknowledge the arguments of your critics and answer them.
C) Explain why the Krushchev Era (1955-1964) was seen by many as the high point of communism in the Soviet Union. What problems were still present in Soviet society?
