Write a one to two page essay comparing the two immigrant experiences. Type double-spaced and use proper paragraph form. Do not just answer the questions, but make sure that all of the following topics are covered in your essay. You may deviate from this order.

¨ What common experiences did the two immigrant families have? In what ways were their experiences different?

¨ What problems did the two families encounter in America? Why were they eventually successful?

¨ What values did each immigrant family attempt to transmit to their children?

à History is written in past tense.

à Write in third person. Do not use “I,” and “my opinion,” etc.

à The first time you refer to someone use their first and last name, second references should be last name only. (George Washington was the first president of the United States. Washington was followed in office by John Adams.)

GRADING

Your grade will be based upon the criteria on the reverse side. Equal weight will be given to content and composition. This assignment will be weighted two.
