Jodogs

The Jodog is a traditional lamp used in Javanese villages where electricity wasn't available. The small cup in the middle holds a candle or lamp oil. The movable wings on either side direct the light and protect the flame from drafts. The elaborate carvings cast fascinating shadows, mimicking the famous Wayang shadow puppet theater of the same region. Our Jodogs are authentic copies of antique pieces, hand carved using reclaimed teak wood to recreate the texture and feel of the original. Jodogs come in a number of styles, some of which are shown below.
