Anginan is a wood or iron panel built into the wall above doors in old Javanese homes to provide ventilation. Anginan vary greatly in design and intricacy. Anginan in the palaces display the royal coat of arms, while those in smaller homes may show flower patterns, ducks, or local batik designs. Carvings labeled Antique are actual Anginan taken from old homes. Reproductions are individually hand carved by village artisans using age-old techniques handed down through generations. We use only old, weathered teakwood reclaimed from old homes and furniture. All Suradi Imports Anginan reproductions are one of a kind original pieces, signed personally by the artisan.
