Workshop
Around Las Cruces I am called "The Gourd Lady", and I like the title. The transition from life in Chicago opened up many new possibilities for me. I love teaching, and teaching part-time at Dona Ana Community College allows me to teach. But, that also leaves time in my life to work with my gourds. I keep running out, and that is what is so thrilling. People, can you believe, buy my gourds to take to their homes and display. What a compliment! I'm excited with each sale, and very pleased.
The gourds, however, have to go through quite a process before they are ready for the market, and the workshop is where that process takes place. Now that I'm at the hospital there is less time for that creative side of my life, but I remain one who truly enjoys creating decorative gourds.
