I saw him standing there,
looking at me.
His eyes were like
the deepest blue sea.

He smiled and nodded
when he saw me look.
His smile was perfect,
like out of a story book.

I raised my hand
in a friendly gesture.
I was on cloud nine
and not the least bit unsure.

He slowly walked over,
this sweet gentleman.
And saying hello
he took my hand.

He asked if we've met
and of course I said no.
But what I would give
to get to know him so.

He told me his name
and I told him mine.
He said why don't we share
a coffee sometime.

I said that'd be great,
how 'bout right now.
He nodded in agreement
and turned with a bow.

We continued to see
one another after that date.
It seems that there is
a thing called fate.

That is the story of the day
my heart took flight.
And why I believe
