Frasier Logo As reported earlier this year, Hal Sparks guest stars on an upcoming episode of Frasier entitled DOOR JAM, airing January 7, 2003. Hal plays the receptionist at an upscale spa in which Niles and Frasier Crane are trying to obtain "Gold Level" membership status, spending a day receiving what they believe to be the best pampering in town. Meanwhile, Daphne attempts to build her physical therapy clientel, submitting to a review by an evaluator (guest star Ana Gesteyer from NBC's Saturday Night Live) who grades the unorthodox treatment techniques Daphne inflicts on Martin Crane. The episode also stars Sarah Shahi as Leila and Mark Reisman as Senator Ogden.

You may recall that this is the episode which was filmed on September 10, 2002, in which David Hyde Pierce fell off a gurney and hit his head on the stage floor while rehearsing a scene. According to Hal Sparks, Pierce actually collapsed in his arms. The actor was taken to the hospital and released shortly thereafter. Luckily, he avoided any major injuries.

Justin and EthanFrom the Gay.com Arts & Entertainment column by Christine Champagne comes Gaywatch: TV's best and worst of 2002. She writes:
"With the year drawing to a close, it's time to look back and reflect on the best and worst TV had to offer in 2002 ... Best Triangle: Justin, Brian and Ethan on Queer as Folk. As we saw at the end of last season, Justin (Randy Harrison) walked out of Babylon with his new lover Ethan (Fab Filippo), leaving Brian (Gale Harold) in the dust. Of course I was cheering Justin's decision -- after all, Brian isn't exactly the picture of loving attentiveness -- but why do I suspect their relationship is far from over? I'm sure we'll see the drama pick up again when Queer as Folk starts its third season in March."

Heather (West) who maintains the Gale Harold Fan Site has uploaded a short clip of Gale's movie Wake in QuickTime format. The file is zipped, and the clip itself is approximately 2 minutes and 15 seconds long. The scene is intense, and has many people saying they want to go out and see this movie right away (if only it were playing in theatres right now!). If you don't have a Quicktime player, you can download one for free at the apple.com site.

PrideVision TV logo
Pridevision TV is airing the Opening Ceremonies of the Gay Games tonight, December 6. The televised festivities start on Oxford Street. PrideVision heads out to what some might call Sydney's "Liberty Avenue" to check out the parties the night before the Games begin. Canadian singer k.d. lang talks about her role in the Opening Ceremony, and PrideVision talks to athletes as they get set to march triumphantly into Aussie Stadium for the Opening Ceremony.... which airs right after that.

This is another "free preview" weekend for Pridevision (they're trying to enlist more subscribers!) so those in the area who get Digital cable have access to this specialty channel free-of-charge for another few days.

Last week, on Brad Fraser's "Jawbreaker," one of the guests was a leather expert who was a consultant on episode 115 (the Leather Ball). He worked with Scott Lowell and Bobby Johnston (who played Dale Wexler) to teach them about 'whipping' and other assorted tricks. Quite the eye-opener! If I recall correctly, he said that they were both great to work with (quick learners! ) and that things went very smoothly.

There's a chance to catch a few more of the QAF actors on Pridevision this weekend... first, with the "Undressed Marathon" ... both Peter and Fab have had significant roles in various episodes of the series.

"Prom Fight: The Marc Hall Story" is also being re-aired at 8pm Friday night. There are short clips of Marc at the QAF set, meeting the actors, and of Sherry Miller and Jack Wetherall speaking to the media about Marc shortly after the half-way point in the program.

Maggie CassellaIf all of that news isn't enough to get your motor running, Annie of the Official Scott Lowell site reports that fans can see Scott LIVE in Toronto, for free! He's appearing on Maggie Cassella's "Because I Said So" on Wednesday, December 11th at 8pm, at the ChumCity Building, corner of Queen and John. Call 416-591-5280 or email isaidso@star-tv.com. Maggie invites her celebrity guests to rant about their favourite and their not-so-favourite realities of the business. The show airs on StarTV Thursdays at 11 pm ET, and on Citytv Sundays at 12am ET, then repeats Thursdays at 1am ET and Sundays at 9:30pm ET.

David GianopoulosThe Toronto Star reported this weekend that David Gianopoulos has joined the cast of Queer As Folk. In 1991, David played Victor Runkle on the series "Sisters", another creation of the CowLip team, Ron Cowen and Daniel Lipman. No word on who David will be playing in season 3 of QAF, but with the actor's extensive list of credits, the sky's the limit.
