For Our Troops
On September 11, 2001 America was attacked with ferocious hatefilled horrific force, meant to destroy us and bring our great country to our knees. The enemy felt safe attacking our land because he was a world away, but, you see, he made a huge mistake when he underestimated the American spirit and resolve. He thought American's were soft, and cowardly, at one point he made the comment that the US didn't have the guts to come to Afghanistan and fight him, I can't help but wonder what is he thinking now?
America did not stay on her knees long, instead, we showed Osama Bin Laden that we do have the guts and the stomache for war and that we were perfectly willing to finish what he started. And I am hard pressed to find the words to thank the brave men and woman who left their families and homes to defend our country and the world against terrorism. Their bravery is just astonishing to me.

Chaos took us by surprise, people running to and fro,
Right away you sacrificed, with words "I have to go."
I do not know where we would be, had it not been for you,
Protecting our great nation and the Grand Red, White and Blue.

For those of you here at home, and those who are afar,
We love and thank you very much, no matter where you are.
A big and humble thank you is something owed to you,
Respect and love from in the heart of all you're ordered to do.

Thank you and God bless you for the freedom given me,
Keep waving our "Old Glory" from sea to shining sea.
Fathers, Mothers, Sisters, Brothers, Uncles, Aunts,Cousins,
The sacrifices made this year kept coming by the dozens.

Called away to duty to defend our freedom land,
A special thanks to all of you is written from my hand.
May God bless and keep you in all you have to do,
Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines keep shining through and through.
