Although we are a small family operation, this is our passion.
We are available to take in horses that their owners are unable
to keep
and/or horses that have been starved, abandoned and abused.
We work hard to rehabilitate all and then offer them
for place them in new homes whenever possible.
WE'RE MOVING!
and need your help!
We will be moving to our new home on nearly 20 acres
so that we can expand the rescue. Hopfully,
this will be in November, 2004.
At this time there are no barns or fencing
and
we are in desperate need of supplies
to get the farm ready for the horses.
Until we are able to get a barn, we
need any kind of lumber,
posts, fencing supplies etc.
that we can get
to help put up leanto's and
the fences.
No donation is too small and we are willing
to come and pick up
any donation in our area.
Donations are tax deductible and all your
help is greatly appreciated!
As with all rescues we too are in need of
sponsors, supplies
and cash donations. Any and all help is needed.
Please check out
our sponsor page or e-mail us for details.
We now have Paypal to accept donations!
Tender Mercy Equine Rescue would like to acknowlege
a very generous gift donated in memory
of
Kim Loizeaux,
a lifelong horse person and horse lover,
from her husband, Ken Loizeaux.
Because of this generous gift,
many horses were able to receive the feed
and care that they needed.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to
Mr. Loizeaux
and his entire family during this time.
THANK YOU
Tender Mercy would like to thank Annette from
Hoagie Bros.
on Transit Road in
Lockport for helping to arrange a car wash
there on Sunday, September 26th.
We would like to encourage all who live
in the area to visit Annette's business
and sample some of the wonderful food they
make.
We would also like to thank all our volunteers
who came out and
spent their day with us.
Without you, it would not have
been a success!
FUNDRAISERS NEEDED:
We are in need of dedicated horse lovers to be on our fundraising
committee.
Horse experience not necessary, just a love of helping these
beautiful animals.
Anyone interested must be willing to help research, organize and
implement possible fundraisers.
Great people skills a must and a willingness to jump in to help
wherever possible, be it making
phone calls, sending letters, soliciting donations, etc.
We are also in need of someone that would be willing to be
committee chairperson
to organize the volunteers and oversee the preparations of any fundraisers.
We are also considering expanding the board of directors and
are accepting applications for this.
Again, horse experience not necessary.
If you are interested in a possible board position, please forward
a letter to the rescue explaining
why you feel you may be an asset to the board
and what strengths, experience, etc. you would bring to the board.
Once a horse has
arrived, they receive all vet and farrier care
and placed under evaluation. After evaluation, those horses
that are ready, are put up for placement. Some may be
riding horses,
some may be companion horses, but most will need continued extra
care
whether it be training, weight put on or just lots of TLC
and patience to help them over come any fears they may have.
We are a
501(c)(3) not for profit
organization
all donations are a tax deduction!
