Remote sites lived and died on electric power. These were our saviours in the power house. In the foreground were two of the three MB-1 generators that we used constantly until they wore out in the Fall of 1968. They were not designed for 8 on and 16 off day after day. After much bitching to Vientiane that we were down to our last engine-generator we got the big guy in back. But be careful what you wish for - it could run forever but used three times the amount of fuel as the little guys. (Copyright Thomas E. Lee 1968, 1999-2007)
