Hirakata City

Kansai Gaidai University is located in the Hirakata prefecture.  Hirakata is a small quaint town with only the University as a major landmark.  But not to worry, there is still lots of fun to be found here.

If you're looking for a good place to eat, try "The Diner House" - the prices are reasonable, and food is like a good home cooked meal.  If you're looking for quantity of food, then try "Rice Mountain" (this is the nickname of the restaurant because nobody really knows the actual Japanese name).  The food is good but you get lots of it.  Average price for both restaurants is 800 yen.

If you're looking for a nice pub, try the "Red Fish" - Food is expensive, but the alcohol is relatively cheap.  They have mini kegs of beer that is always a big hit.  A cozy little joint that we visited frequently.
