Gem's Friends

I've heard it said that something good always comes out of something bad.  Well, it's hard for me to think that anything good could have come from my dear boy's passing, but we did meet some wonderful friends along our painful journey.  This page is dedicated to them and to their angels whom I pray were there to meet my boy and to lend their paws to help him across the Rainbow Bridge to Kitty Heaven.

Up, Up and over the bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called
Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and
hills for all of our special friends so they
can run and play together.

When I first got the news that my boy was gravely ill, I joined some support groups on the internet.  With their compassion and kind words we were able to get through the terrible ordeal that faced us.  So many of our angels were lost to the horrendous and merciless disease called cancer, and following are some of their photos and links to the memorial sites for those angels that were there for my little Angel Gem.

Pictured below is Angel Athena (Thena), daughter of MJ and Anton who were there for us through the entire process of the illness and my baby's passing.  MJ was there when I needed someone most,  when I picked up the cremains of my boy, the tin can and its contents was all that was left of that little life I had adored.  Angel Athena had been cremated in the very same cemetary.  There is a physical resemblance, which I think bonded us to each other immediately.

Beyond The Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had
and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time
on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then
of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again
to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow,
and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful
lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows
as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort
as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body
was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them,
but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you,
to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful,
then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles
shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love
in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together
in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord
no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me,
we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow
and listen with your heart.
