*The story opens up in th PS 118 classroom where Mr. Simmons is about to make an annoncement.*
Mr.Simmons: Class I have an announcement to make I talked to principle Wartz about getting class pet and he said we can isnt that exciting!
*The class shows no excitement,but seeing how dissapointed Mr. Simmons is Lila chimes in.*
Lila: oh I love pets just ever so much when i lived in PleasantVille I had a pet rabbit i hope we can get that.
*By that remark the class start yapping away on what pet they think the class should get. seeing this Mr. Simmons brightens up.*
Mr.Simmons: Now class tommorow where going on a field trip to the pet shop to decide what pet we want.
Harold:Yey we get the day off from school anything like that i`m interested in.
*Suddenly the bell rings for lunch everyone runs out the door.*
Phoebe(to Helga)I hope we get a hamster for a class pet,what do you want to get? as they get their lunches out.
Helga:I want to get a monitor lizard I wanted one ever since my dad made me take mine back to the petshop.
Arnold walks by just as helga makes her remark.
Arnold:Are you talking about that giant Reptile that killed my parrot.
Helga:Thats right football head besides it was just a dum bird.
Arnold:MR.Simmons wouldnt get that annyway it made him faint.
Phoebe:Arnolds right helga Mr.Simmons wouldnt want the reptile after that.
Helga:Crimity you asked me what I wanted and I told you its not like we were going to get it besides what does football head want any way
Arnold:I want a rabbit cause then lila would be happy.
Helga:(thinks)why does`nt he want me to be happy instead of Lila why cant he love me isnt it I who worship him night and day isnt it I who like likes him not just likes him ohh.
Phoebe:Are you OK helga?
Helga:wheres Arnold?
Phoebe:He went to lila`s table.

*Bell rings for school every one goes to class.*
Mr.Simmons,Class i forgot to give you these permissions slip for the trip to the petshop tommorow since you guys left so quickly for lunch he said as he pasted out the forms ill need your signature and your parents.
Harold:I need to put in mine Mr.Simmons how do you spell Harold
*By this comment the class broke out with laughter until harold lifts his fist in the air about to slug.* *Next day we come in with the class outside the pet shop,*
Mr.Simmons:Now class remeber we can only get one also remember to be kind to the animals they are living creatures.
*The class enters the petshop.*
Gerald:I think we should get a snake.
Harold:Yeah snakes are cool.
All the girls inthe class:(Besides Helga)EWWWWW NO SNAKES ARE GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr.Simmons:I guess we cant get a snake then.
Phoebe:I think we should get a hamster there cute and cuddely.
Rhonda:Yeah I like hamsters.
Lila:But bunnys are just ever so cute to Rhonda.
Rhonda: but they smell bad if there inside it would have to go outside and theres no room outside so a Rabbit is out of the question sorry.
Nadine:Wait you too before you guys get in a arrgument I have on a idea on the perfect pet.
Rhonda:And what is that?
Nadine:A Tarantuela Helga and all the boys want it how about you two.
Rhonda and Lila:NO not that ugly thing!!!
Nadine:Dang I love bugs.
Mr.Simmons:How about a gold fish?
Eugene:NO then it would be like replaicing Henry I can never replaice him inside my heart Eugene looked like he was going to cry.
Arnold:I`m so sorry Eugene.
Helga:Ohh come on it was just a dum fish besides I dont want one their so boring all they do is swim doy.
Mr.Simmons:What do you want sheena?
Sheena:I think a rat rats are cute soft cuddely gross to boys and i read in a book that they are they are the greatest kinds of pets.
Rhonda:Sheena rats are Gross.
Helga:I will agree to get a rat even though I hate them.
Nadine:Me too They look interesting to learn about.
Harold:I want a rat too!
All the boys:Yeahhh!
Mr.Simmons: I guess were getting a rat Helga since you agreed on getting a rat you get to pick the rat and name it.
Helga:Im going to get that gray one over there and im going to name it lucky.
Helga: it is ok so I guess its the best class pet ever.
Arnold: Yeah Helga your right it is kind of cool he said touching her shoulder.
Helga:Picked up the rat for she was thankful off it and dreamed to herself he touched me I will never wash these clothes again But then the rat pooped on her.
Helga:ewwww I hate rats!
