   LYNETTE "SQUEAKY" FROMME

From the Washington Post, March 14, 1979:

Fromme Faces New Charges

From news services and staff reports

Lynette Fromme, a member of the Charles Manson cult imprisoned for the attempted assassination of President Ford, attacked a fellow woman inmate with a hammer and faces new federal charges, it was reported yesterday.

The victim was Julienne Busic, one of five pro-Croatian nationalists who hijacked a jet airliner with 93 people aboard in 1976 over Buffalo, N.Y. Busic was convicted of air piracy and contributing to the death of a police officer killed by a bomb left in a subway locker.

Busic suffered "a pretty good blow" but was reported in good condition.

The FBI said U.S. attorney's office would probably charge Fromme with committing assault on a federal reservation, an offense carrying a maximum penalty of three years in prison.
