Background: Since January, 1994, an effort has been made to address the need for active volenteer care giving in the communities of Washington County and Abingdon Virginia! It started with funds from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Highlands Faith in Action, now known as, Ecumenical Faih in Action, (EFiA) has become the organization which is now responding to this need.
What We Do:The EFiA Develops a network of congregations with programs of trained volunteers who provide support, assistance, education and refferal to people in the community whose circumstances leave them with significant social, mental or physical needs. The EFiA has helped more than 400 individuals with more than 100 volunteers!
