page updated april 16,08

Will devote this page to the farm and what is going on at the Farmer's Market in Carbondale, Il.

Farmer's Market of Carbondale,

Old fashioned outdoor country market with country prices for 28 years.

Saturday 8a.m. to noon. Westowne Center Rt 13 West

Behind McDonald's rain or shine.

Market is open from April thru November.

We are starting to sell bedding plants and some of the flowers are ready, also going to market in C'dale.. just early stuff like leeks asparagus , spinach and plants. but it will change quickly so come and see what is there .

hopefully this year we will not have a killing freeze and can have loads of fresh fruits at the market.

also we provide some easy recipies for some of the produce..

Produce changes pretty rapid so just comeout and see what is available... always good fresh produce.

Below is pictures taken at the market from previous years

The pictures above were taken during the summer season of 2003.... shows some of the products available during the season.

the pictures above are from our stand ... this week... July 12th.2003. Grandson and Granddaughter both work each saturday .. they learn how hard it is working for money....

Lingle farm pictures below.

Here are some pictures of the farm and some data about Lingle farms.

Here is a picture of the farm.. It was built in 1906.. so it is well on its way to 100 years old.

this is the side of the house .. Picture was taken from the lower side of the packing sheds and storage buildings.

Here is the front of the house.

Here is s shot of the greenhouse where all the little plants start out in hotbeds then get transplanted to trays. There they stay till they are big enough to put out in the fields or sell at market or from the farm.

Now on the to the pictures of the green house and the plants.

Here is how the plants start.... Seeds are planted in hot beds and when they reach this size they are transplanted one at a time in to the trays you will see in the next three pictures. when they reach a mature size they are put out in the fields or sold .

last but not least.

All of the plants are now in trays and growing in the green house...

Below are pictures taken 4-07-2004

I plan on keeping the page up to date during the season....

Plants are sold from the farm... Open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. During apple season produce is available from the farm also.. Rest of the time produce is sold thru the market in Carbondale.
