Elijah Part 3

< Elijah > ~walks outside with the sun beaming on his face, almost like it's reflecting his smile. Breathes in some fresh air~ ahhhh... what a wonderful day. ~he walks across the stream and then into the woods... then he stops... and looks around. The woods feel different to him~ *Something doesn't feel right...* ~he shakes it off, and continues walking. He decides that he hasn't been down town for a while. He continues walking in that direction. Though watching for anything unusually~
< Cougar > ~nothing appears unusual until he reaches what should have been the park. It is a clearing and ahead of him, instead of skyscrapers and busy streets; a small old-earth like village is in front of him. Pavement is seen, but its cracked, showing that its had no care.~
< Elijah > ~he stops suddenly~ What the heck happened???? Oh, no... not again.... ~he continues walking towards what is suppose to be town, curious about were he is or more on the lines of what time he is in this time. His smile had disappeared~
< Girl > ~as he was looking around, he missed someone running toward him, looking over her shoulder, she doesn't see him either. Runs right into him, knocking him down~
< Elijah > ~looks surprised up at her~ oww...
< Girl > ~her golden eyes seem to be worried~ Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you ~she says quickly. She appears to be about 16 or 17. Moves off of him, standing up~
< Elijah > ~he stands up, brushing himself up~ That's ok. What's the big hurry?
< Girl > ~she glances over shoulder as if she's being chased~ Explain later, ~grabs him by the wrist and pulls him into the woods~
< Elijah > ~looks very surprised, but allows himself to be pulled away~
< Girl > ~after they are a good ways into the woods, she stops and lets go of his wrist~
< Elijah > ~he rubs his wrist, because there is a slight burning sensation. He looks at her, hoping for an explanation~
< Girl > ~she's breathing slightly heavy both from running and anxiety. Her clothing appears simple, as if she comes from a lower peasant class~ Sorry about that.. but the officials don't take to kindly to people showing up randomly... ~half explaining~
< Elijah > ~looks slightly surprised~ You know?
< Girl > ~looks at him curiously~ Know what? Other than you can't be from my town...
< Elijah > Oh, yeah I guess you could say that... ummmm... My name is Elijah. ~he says not really knowing what to say~
< Girl > ~she looks a bit surprised, hesitating~ Elijah? ~looks at him closely~
< Elijah > ~He notices something familiar about her, looks confused~ Yes... my name is Elijah..... And your name would be?
< Girl > ~she continues almost as if she hadn't heard his last question~ I thought...... I thought you were dead?
< Elijah > Dead? What is the year?
< Girl > It would be somewhere around 4000 earthen time..
< Elijah > Well then if you do know me then, I would probably be dead.... see... I'm... from ... the past....
< Girl > Not quite what I meant.. you disappeared.. we never saw you again..
< Elijah > How long ago?
< Girl > I don't remember... too much has happened since...
< Elijah > What is your name? Something is very familiar about you, though I can't quite place it.
< Girl > ~smiles slightly~ I'm a bit older than I was when you knew me, Salia.
< Elijah > ~looks shocked~ Salia???? Oh, my goodness.... wow... ~doesn't know what to say. He looks at her in disbelief~
< Salia > A lot has changed around here.... ~seems to have inherited her mother's non-emotional tone~
< Elijah > What happened?
< Salia > We lost...
< Elijah > Lost what? ~he looks slightly confused~
< Salia > Everything...
< Elijah > To Darrin?
< Salia > Yes... ~says somewhat venomously~
< Elijah > oh....~he doesn't say anything else~
< Salia > Those of us left are always on the move... I've been lucky enough not to be easily recognized. The soldiers are in town, that was why I was running.. before they had the chance to see me. ~she seems to always be on high alert, occasionally looking behind her~
< Elijah > Who's all left? ~wanting to ask the opposite question~
< Salia > I haven't had contact with any one for a long time.. I do know that your mother is in the town nearby.. for awhile that is.
< Elijah > It's better that she doesn't know that I am here, being that I am from the past and everything... don't want to get her hopes up or anything. ~ pauses~ Why did I leave?
< Salia > We don't know.. you disappeared one day..
< Elijah > Strange.... ~thinks for a moment~ *I disappeared? The evil side won? The good is running? And who knows who is really alive?*
< Salia > In some strange ways, its not like we all thought it would be like.. they've more or less reverted each of the colonies into a more primitive agricultural state.. I suppose that's to keep us from rising up..
< Elijah > So basically to make you guys slaves?
< Salia > I believe they use the term "peasants", but yes.
< Elijah > ~shakes his head~ When did this happen? And why? *This is so confusing...*
< Salia > Several hundred years... and we're not entirely sure, but our resources were wiped out.. They found something to get at us, and succeeded.
< Elijah > ~Elijah stiffens~ Do you think there might have been a spy?
< Salia > I don't know.... it sometimes felt that way.
< Elijah > *Did i cause this???? Could I have done this? Me join up with Darrin, could it have been me???* ~he looks nervously at Salia, not sure what to say~
< Salia > If anyone had known, mother would have.
< Elijah > That is true... she had a very keen sense of things... you did too.
< Salia > I still do..
< Elijah > ...wait a minute what did you mean by would and that you still do? She doesn't?
< Salia > ~looks down at the ground~ We lost her in the final battle.. before all this.
< Elijah > oh...no.. that's horrible... ~looks shocked~ *Oh, please, don't tell me I did this! I don't want to be the reason Irene died!* ~he's mind was screaming with thoughts. He looked away from Salia~
< Salia > ~she quickly looks up toward her right, sensing someone approaching~
< Elijah > ~Elijah looks in the direction that she is looking and says only to her~ < What? >
< Salia > ~they hear a raven's cry, and she relaxes~ < It is Shawn >
< Elijah > < Is that good... or is that bad... >
< Salia > ~a slight smile appears on her face~ < Depends on how you look at it >
< Elijah > ~watches with caution~ ~a raven flies down toward them. It lands near them in a tree.~
< Salia > Its alright, he's a friend. ~saying to the raven~
< Elijah > ~he breathes a sigh of relief but still doesn't say anything~
< Shawn > < Was going to ask about that. The soldiers moved on. Heading southward. Aunt will be fine. >
< Elijah > ~looks at her suddenly surprised~
< Salia > Perhaps I should say that I have a brother? ~smiles~ Elijah this is Shawn.
< Elijah > Thanks for adding that. ~he nods at him.~
< Shawn > ~bobs his head in greeting~
< Elijah > What happened to your aunt? ~looks very nervous~
< Shawn > < Nothing. Was saying that the soldiers aren't heading her way. She'll be able to stay in that village for longer >
< Elijah > ok, thanks
< Shawn > ~he flicks his wings, opening them again~ < I've got to meet up with the falcon from 10.. he's got some news from the far north. > ~he flaps his wings and jumps off the branch~
< Salia > Give him my greetings. Fly safe.
< Shawn > ~dips his wings and vanishes~
< Salia > We have a few connections here and there throughout the colonies.. earth and other.
< Elijah > Ah... at least you have that. ~doesn't sound too happy~
< Salia > ~looks at him curiously as if she's unsure why he doesn't sound happy~
< Elijah > ~he looks away from her, trying to get away from her watchful eyes.~
< Salia > Our connections are what keeps us going.
< Elijah > yeah.... ~not sure what to say~ *Why is this happening??? Is this a prophecy of the future? Is someone trying to tell me something?*
< Salia > As long as we have a resistance, all isn't lost.. ~almost seems as if she's trying to convince the both of them~
< Elijah > Yes never lose faith.... ~sounds distant~
< Salia > ~taking the distant thought differently,~ You don't sound so sure yourself.
< Elijah > No I believe that you guys will eventually come back... I have that much faith... it's just that... I just have a lot on my mind. This is all really startling.
< Salia > I suppose.. after coming from the past.
< Elijah > A past were good conquered evil.
< Salia > No, we only won... conquered is a different story.
< Elijah > I guess you are right. Don't lose faith though, I don't think this is the end. ~he feels confident enough to look back at her~
< Salia > We tell our selves that nearly daily... its very nearly the only thing keeping each of the resistance going. ~sounds weary, a sign of a hard life~ Most of our fellow citizens have given up and regard the stories as myth and legend...
< Elijah > What stories?
< Salia > Past battles, prophecy, mostly told by story tellers..
< Elijah > It's amazing sometimes to see what people believe... of course now it is just sad.
< Salia > ~nods. She looks up, then quickly morphs to Catsi, her tail blade shoots up above Elijah's head, blocking a Cathern's tail~
< Elijah > ~Elijah, quickly ducks when seeing Salia morph~
< Salia > ~the cathern growls loudly. Salia hisses back~
< Elijah > ~Elijah steps behind a tree not sure what to do. Once again Elijah can't move, and he is forced to watch~
< Cathern > ~it leaps at her, claws bared. They repeatedly leap at each other and break apart, claws and tail's slashing~
< Elijah > *oh, no what's going to happen now!* ~He wanted help but couldn't~
< Cathern > ~the cathern smacks her hard in the head, knocking her to her side a few feet back~
< Elijah > ~Elijah steps out from behind the tree~ Leave her alone! ~he morphs down to his defenseless raccoon~
< Cathern > ~the cathern looks smugly at him, growling deeply. Its large wings open~
< Elijah > < Leave her alone! > ~he sounds very angry~
< Salia > ~getting to her paws, looking back at Elijah~ What are you doing?!
< Cathern > ~the Cathern leaps at him, claws out~
< Elijah > ~he scatters up a tree, quickly. Doesn't answer Salia~ < Missed me. >
< Cathern > ~the cathern is not far behind him, growling~
< Elijah > ~he keeps going up higher and higher. Until he is at the top. He looks down at the cathern. It looks as if he might have stuck his tongue out at him~ *oh, geez why did I stop!*
< Cathern > ~the cathern whips its tail at him~
< Elijah > ~he leaps from the tree onto the ground, he feels slightly shaken~
< Cathern > ~it turns and darts rapidly at him from the air~
< Elijah > ~he regains his composure, and tries to run again, but can’t because he broke one of his legs~
< Salia > ~Salia, leaps at the cathern, hitting it back. They both hit the ground several feet from where Elijah is rolling, hissing and spitting~
< Elijah > < Salia don't! > ~he tries to turn around but he doesn’t make it because of the pain. He falls to the ground~
< Cathern > ~the cathern flips her over itself, causing her to slide a bit away from it, it quickly gets to its paws, facing her~
< Elijah > *Dear Lord don't let anything happen to her!* < Salia please stop! > ~he seems to be pleading~
< Salia > < If I do that it'll eat me... > ~glares back at the cathern~
< Elijah > < oh, ok... but be careful >
< Salia > ~they both glare at each other, neither breaking their gaze~
< Elijah > < Salia not the eyes! Look away! Salia! LOOK AWAY! >
< Salia > < No, let me concentrate.. > ~hissing~
< Elijah > < They have mind powers Salia! Look away! >
< Cathern > ~the cathern howls loudly, and bats its paws at its head, wheeling away from her~
< Salia > ~she stands up hissing at the cathern~
< Elijah >
< Salia > ~she lets out a loud shriek, and leaps at the cathern, slashing at it with her claws~
< Cathern > ~the cathern, slashes out with its tail defensively, pumping its wings to get away from her. It takes to the air and rapidly vanishes~
< Salia > ~her wings are arched, her fur a bit poofed, growls after the cathern~
< Elijah > *Go Salia Go! *
< Salia > ~after the cathern has disappeared, Salia relaxes slightly, checking herself over for what sort of damage the cathern had done~
< Elijah > ~quickly morphs back to human form, and make sure everything is ok. He then looks at Salia~ Are you all right?
< Salia > ~she ruffles her wings before morphing back~ Yeah, I'm fine..
< Elijah > That's good. Where did it come from?
< Salia > They are always patrolling around... there's a lot more of them these days.
< Elijah > That's a scary thought. I didn't like the amount that we had from my time. And there weren't too many of them if you remember.
< Salia > ~she nods~ Increased security...
< Elijah > I'm sure.
< Salia > keeps the villagers in line
< Elijah > ~he looks around now self consciously, not wanting to have to deal with another one~
< Salia > ~she looks back behind her~ Since Shawn said the soldiers are gone.. we best get out of the woods and back in town. ~looking back at him~ And we'll have to find you some clothes a bit more "appropriate" for our time..
< Elijah > Ok.
< Salia > ~she turns and walks back toward town~
< Elijah > ~follows her~
< Cougar > ~they returned to where he first met up with Salia, they continue on past what Elijah now sees as fields. There are several people out now tending to them. Each look no better off than Salia. All are men or young men~
< Elijah > *I wonder where she is going to take me? Who will I see? What if my mother sees me?* ~he follows without saying anything, too deep into thought~
< Salia > ~they enter the small village, the houses seem to be made from rough timber and mud. Some kids are running around in play~
< Elijah > ~he watches everything with amazement~ *I can't believe how everything has changed! It's almost like I went back in time instead of forward*
< Salia > ~they pass through the central meeting place. There is an elder with several kids, and young females gathered around him listening intently to his story. Some of the running kids look at Elijah oddly, a few scurrying away afraid~
< Elijah > ~catches his pace up to Salia, not wanting them to be afraid of him, or know that he's different.~
< Crowd > ~a gasp comes from the listening crowd as the storyteller seems to have hit a high point in his tale, his arms wide in a large gesture. They cannot hear what he is saying~
< Elijah > *What? Do the recognize me? What's their problem?* ~looks nervously at Salia but doesn't say anything~
< Salia > ~she looks at him, and says quietly~ He's telling the story of the battle of the second wielder, Zach.
< Elijah > Ah.... Good story.
< Salia > ~nods~ Its one they tell a lot...
< Elijah > I'm sure. They used to tell it a lot even when I was growing up.
< Salia > ~thye approach one particular home that's a bit further on. She stops next to it~ This is where I temporarily stay.. there are some clothes in there that you can use.
< Elijah > Oh, ok...~he stops next to her, not sure if to enter or not~
< Salia > They are easy to find, ~she gestures for him to enter~
< Elijah > Thank you. ~he enters and goes in. he looks around and finds several different pieces of male clothing that he can use. He puts something on. Then returns to the door and stands out looking at Salia~ Is this ok?
< Salia > ~she looks at him~ Yeah, that'll do. If you'd like to sit, there's a bench here ~she points toward a bench that faces toward the town center next to the house~
< Elijah > ~he sits down next to her, but doesn’t' say anything~
< Salia > ~she looks to him~ Do you know why you're here?
< Elijah > Have no clue? Do you?
< Salia > ~studies him~ Well.. that depends.. is this the only time jump you've done?
< Elijah > no..... I've had four others.
< Salia > Perhaps if you elaborate a bit more? Where and when and what happened, briefly of course.
< Elijah > The first one and third, I don't really know the time, but I met up with a guy name Seth and a weird creature named Stalm. The second one was the taking of the sword, when your mom was young. And the one before this was when your mom was on the side with Darrin.
< Salia > I see an underlying theme...
< Elijah > ~looks at her curiously~ And what is that?
< Salia > Who has been a part of every one of your jumps? Sometimes directly, mostly not?
< Elijah > Darrin?
< Salia > Yes. Major influences of Darrin... perhaps that may be a reason for these..
< Elijah > Maybe.....
< Salia > But I don't see why... its unclear to me.. Did you ever even meet him?
< Elijah > Yes, I did... Several times actually.
< Salia > When? ~she's the one to look curious~
< Elijah > I just meet him in my times, for the first few times... ~looks away.~
< Salia > Was that when you kept disappearing? ~its hard to tell if she knows or is merely guessing~
< Elijah > Umm... maybe I guess... If we are thinking of the right time.
< Salia > Something like a 1000 years ago.. not long after you and your mother returned to earth. When you first started taking magic lessons with mom.
< Elijah > yeah, that would be the right time... ~won't look her in the eyes, worried that she will see the truth~
< Salia > Elijah, I know there is something that you wish not to tell. But from what I gather from what you said and from my sense, these jumps are showing you the answer to what you seek.. or rather what you didn't wish to seek.
< Elijah > I figured that had something to do with it....
< Salia > This being future for you, and from what you discover.. You can change this, for better or for worse.. whatever it may be I don't know. As these go, this will probably be your last jump...
< Elijah > I just wish I knew why I disappeared.
< Salia/Romeion > ~her voice seems lower, as if it is not even her voice~ The thread of time, so many pieces, each with their own outcomes. Pull one and a knot could form, pull another and it slips freely. To choose wisely is to jump from thread to thread, never knowing. The dragon waits in the darkness, unpleased in waiting. So many threads. Each causing something new.
< Elijah > ~looks startled, looks back at Salia surprised.~
< Salia > ~her eyes are closed, she is not moving~
< Elijah > Are you ok?
< Salia > ~she opens her eyes, looking at him.. Her voice normal~ what?
< Elijah > You just went out of this world and I heard strange voices.
< Salia > ~she thinks a moment, before realizing what happened~ I must have been far-sensing.. yet for you in your own time... Romeion is the one whom you heard.
< Elijah > Your SA?
< Salia > Yes he is.
< Elijah > So how come I heard it?
< Salia > Its for you... I never know what I say... or rather what he says.
< Elijah > So he just takes over?
< Salia > You could say that..
< Elijah > oh... ~thinks about it for a moment not sure what to think~
< Salia > ~they see more and more people in the village, appears that the work day is over, the sun is low in the sky~ You may use the home here... there is a small bed. I'd offer something to eat.. but there isn't anything..
< Elijah > ~Elijah yawns, and stretches, his eyes are starting to get heavy from the long day of time traveling.~ That's alright. I'm not really hungry... ummm.... well I'm really tired so i'm going to take you up on the bed offer. ~yawns again~
< Salia > ~she nods~ Alright. I'll be here in the later morning.. I have my shift on the fields tomorrow.. Night. ~she stays seated~
< Elijah > k, well I guess I'll see you then. Goodnight. ~walks back into the room and lays down on the bed. Following to sleep shortly after. ~
< Steph > ~about that time. Stephanie comes around the corner to see Salia sitting there.~ Child why aren’t you in the house. It's starting to get chilly out. ~she looks the same as she did from Elijah's time~
< Salia > ~smiles at her~ It is my favorite time of the evening, all is quiet, nearly peaceful.
< Steph > And thank goodness to that. no soldiers to hunt you down and so forth.... ~she frowns as she sits down next to Salia~
< Salia > ~her smile fades~ Did you meet up with those that came through here today?
< Steph > Almost but Bonita stopped me. ~she watches Salia from the corner of her eyes Sensing that something is bothering her~
< Salia > I managed to miss them as well.. the town elder told me right before they entered our village... I hid in the woods.
< Steph > And what did you find in the woods that has gotten you so upset? ~she looks at her~
< Salia > ~seems to be struggling if she should say anything or not~ I ran into a cathern... ~as if buying herself more time to think~
< Steph > That's not good. Anything else... ~senses a familiar power on her.~
< Salia > ...a time traveler..
< Steph > oh, really, interesting... haven't had one of those in a while. ~she knows that it is not everything but, doesn't ask anything else. She returns to the sunset.~
< Salia > ~says nothing more. Hoping she doesn't ask whom. follows her gaze to the sunset. Switching subjects~ At least there are some things to look forward to each day...
< Steph > Yes, dear child, we have each other and the sunset and your brother too...
< Salia > I practically don't see him much anymore.. with him being a messenger.
< Steph > Yes... but at least we three are alive....~her voice saddens~ and so will our memories.... ~ a memory of her children come to her, Adam watching over proudly. She smiles, and wipes away a tear~
< Salia > ~smiles faintly, but stays silent~
< Steph > I miss them too Salia....especially Elijah... he never really knew how much I loved him....
< Salia > ~unconsciously she seemed to glance quickly toward the house and back. Doesn't notice this herself~ I'm sure he did...
< Steph > Is he in there? The time traveler?
< Salia > The traveler? Yes...
< Steph > I guess I should take a peak to see if I know him... ~she looks at her to see what kind of reaction she'd get~
< Salia > That may not be the best idea..
< Steph > Any reason why not?
< Salia > Trust me, it would not be, but I cannot stop you.
< Steph > ~looks at her strangely, but walks in to the house anyways. She stops suddenly, and gasps but doesn't say anything, her mind screams~ *Elijah!!!!*
< Salia > ~Salia has stayed where she is~
< Steph > ~She looks at him one last time and returns outside not wanting to wake him~ Why didn't you tell me that the time traveler was Elijah?
< Salia > Some things are best left unsaid.
< Steph > There has to be a reason why he's here though. ~she contemplates the thought~ Do you have any idea why?
< Salia > Yes and no.
< Steph > ~she looks at her questioningly, but doesn't say anything~
< Salia > ~says nothing either. As with habit she never says more than necessary with a bit of her mother's cryptic tone~
< Steph > ~she sighs~ You’re just like your mother.... What do you mean yes or no? One of these days I'll get you just to tell me the facts... of course that will be the day I die.
< Salia > ~looks troubled by that briefly before catching on, smiles slightly~ It means just that.. I do and I don't know... Romeion talked to Elijah...
< Steph > Interesting.... What do you think it means?
< Salia > Other than there was a reason for him coming here amongst other things. ~shrugs~
< Steph > And what is his reason for coming here? ~feels like she is a child again playing twenty questions~
< Salia > I don't believe he had the choice... he looked quite surprised when I literally ran into him.
< Steph > I'm sure he does, an older version of his cousin that looks older and a lot different, in a strange new place. Poor child. Do you know what might be causing him to come here, if it's not him?
< Salia > Perhaps something wishes for him to see things, so that he will pull the right thread. ~her eyes nearly flash when she says this~
< Steph > Did you do this?
< Salia > ~looks at her curiously~ Me?
< Steph > Yes you...
< Salia > That seems past my abilities...
< Steph > ~thinks for a moment~ Maybe... but who?
< Salia > Depends on what he views I suppose... anyone could have a hand in it. To sway one's thinking is to present it in extremes to what one wishes to achieve.
< Steph > ~thinks for a moment, not sure what else to say~ I wish he could stay.
< Salia > That I do know the answer to.
< Steph > That he can't? ~she looks sad~ To have my son back would be wonderful.
< Salia > Changing another's fate is unadvisable.
< Steph > Yes... I know, and dangerous to us also. Plus maybe he can go back and change all of this. ~she points to the town around them, there's barely any sun left~
< Salia > Or perhaps it could grow worse.
< Steph > We shall know eventually.... ~he eyes are sad and watching the last little slit of the sun sneak over the horizon~
< Salia > ~she looks back over the village~ There is agitation here.. ~seems to be switching the topics~
< Steph > ~snaps back to her attention~ What do you mean?
< Salia > The younger generation is uneasy about the presence of hidden ones.. A few know about me..
< Steph > Yes, I'm sure... and they probably have a reason to be uneasy, because if you are found that could be a treat to them.
< Salia > We are running out of places to hide.
< Steph > Yes.. I know... we all are...
< Salia > But some have less of a worry than others about it. ~says flatly~
< Steph > You don't think I have something to worry about. No I won't die, because I am already dead, but you know what, I'm alive also and they could torture me and I would never die, unless they found the crystal! Besides I worry about you and your brother more than anything in the world. ~there is a slight tinge of anger in her voice.~
< Salia > I had not entirely meant you. And the close proximity of the hidden ones may be adding to it. ~she stands up as if to leave~
< Steph > Where are you going? ~she nearly yells at her~
< Elijah > ~about that time, and figure comes out from the house~ Salia, who's yelling? ~he looks from her to the other person.~ Mom?
< Salia > Perhaps next time we can try to gain other kinds of attention to ourselves. ~says shortly~
< Steph > I'm sorry we woke you dear. ~she smiles covering her anger. She glares at her niece, but says nothing.~ Maybe you shouldn't think that you have to carry all of the weight around here, and maybe I won't yell. ~she whispers this, looks apologetic for yelling, but not about what she said.~
< Elijah > ~says sounding like he is half asleep~ What's going on?
< Steph > Nothing, now go back to bed.
< Salia > Nothing? Sometimes I wish I were. ~hisses slightly~
< Steph > ~she ignores Salia's comment~ Elijah everything is alright... now go back to bed. ~she leads him back to the house.~
< Elijah > ~he stops~ But I want to help, I mean if there is something the wrong. And mom if you are angry then something is the matter.
< Steph > There's nothing you can do until you get a good night sleep.
< Elijah > ~Elijah looks at Salia, saying only to her~ < What's the matter? >
< Salia > < We don't always see eye to eye. >
< Elijah > < Nobody sees eye to eye with her. Will you be alright? >
< Salia > < It is not the first time. I've managed before > ~her voice easily gives away her emotion of being upset~
< Elijah > < I understand. I've been there before. > ~he then allows his mother to lead him into the room, but then pulls away, from her, and lays back down on the bed, pretending he is asleep so he doesn't have to talk to her.~
< Steph > ~stands there a few minutes watching him, knowing that he is asleep, but remember what he was like when he was this age, she returns outside.~
< Salia > ~Salia has moved away from the house, but is still insight. She is looking toward the empty village center~
< Steph > ~she looks at Salia, frowning~ < I'm sorry, Salia. > ~At that she leaves towards a small place where she has been hiding.~
< Salia > ~Salia says nothing~

< Salia > ~morning approaches, the sun rises. Salia has joined several others in the fields~
< Elijah > ~Elijah rises with the sun in his eyes, though he didn't sleep much more after he was awakened. He goes out the front door seeing if Salia was there. She wasn't and unsure what to do, he walks down the street headed for what was once the park~
< Storyteller > ~activity is a bit higher than it was the day before. he hears the storyteller's call~ Come all, there is a tale to be told. ~from the center he can see the fields being worked by several people~
< Elijah > ~he walks toward the fields curious of what is going on there.~
< Field > ~they seem to be tending to the young plants that are growing. He hears raised voices from a group of 3 on one side of the field. The shorter of the three has a shovel and is trying to do her work, but the other two men seem to be getting in her way~
< Elijah > ~he walks closer but stops a few hundred feet away watching~
< Man > Why don't you find somewhere else to cause trouble. You have brought too much attention to this side of the area.
< Man2 > We have no need of your kind here. Your preachings will only get us all killed.
< Elijah > ~he looks closer to the girl she looks familiar~ *what is going on? Salia! What are they up to?!*
< Salia > ~sticks the shovel into the ground, and looks at them annoyed~ You'll get yourselves killed if you don't attend to these fields for him.
< Elijah > *For who?*
< Man > I believe that we have ways to correct that.
< Salia > You really believe that succumbing to him is the answer?
< Man2 > Some of us have families to take care of. It is in our best interest to stay alive not jump on some idea that could and will get us killed.
< Elijah > *She has a plan? What kind of plan?*
< Salia > ~she picks up her shovel, trying to move on, but they stand in her path again~ I have work to do.
< Elijah > ~Elijah walks up to them~ Salia there you are, I was wondering were you went off to? ~he looks at the two guys angrily~
< Cougar > ~the three of them look surprised~
< Salia > What are you doing out here?
< Man2 > And who are you? A student of hers? ~says mockingly~
< Man > Don't see to many of those anymore. ~equal tone~
< Elijah > I am not a student. I am family, so buzz off, since this is none of your business.
< Men > ~the two look to each other, saying something in a language that Elijah cannot understand. One of them turns to Salia and says something in the same language before they leave~
< Elijah > ~looks at her~ are you all right? ~he looks concerned~
< Salia > ~has returned to work with the shovel~ I'm fine.. ~says somewhat flatly~
< Elijah > What was their problem? What did they say? ~sounds still slightly annoyed.~
< Salia > Most people have decided that this way of life is better than standing up. They work all day, pay allegiance to the empire and go home at night.
< Elijah > Most people would rather live like this then die fighting, that is a fact that has never changed.
< Salia > Yes well that fact is what keeps us moving..
< Elijah > Yes, yes... ~is somewhat thinking about several different things at one time~
< Salia > Hiding, ridicule, punishment... there's never a day without them..
< Elijah > No in a way that is life, but it's people that can change that... ~he looks at her, again~
< Salia > It’s not much of a life if you fear for your life each day.
< Elijah > And that would be why there are people like you and me... and even mom... ~pauses~ so what is this plan of yours?
< Salia > Plan? ~looks at him finally, looks confused~
< Elijah > They said something about a plan or an idea somewhere along that line.
< Salia > A plan and an idea aren't the same thing. They are referring to the idea of standing up to him. They'd rather turn me in than join me. More benefits for them in their eyes.
< Elijah > Everybody sees everything differently. Who is him?
< Salia > If there are people who see differently I have yet to run across them.. I was only slow to leave once.. and it stays fresh in my mind when I hear the words again.
< Elijah > ~he frowns even deeper, but says nothing, but thinks to himself~ *poor thing, if only there was something that I could do.*
< Salia > Sometimes it is not always worth the running ~says a bit quieter, apparently not meaning for Elijah to hear, but he does~
< Elijah > Not if you don't believe... Not if you think you can help.
< Salia > I once believed that... but it seems only futile... not a reason to give up I know. ~adds "I know" as if she knew he was going to say something~
< Elijah > ~looks at her surprised, not knowing what to say~ *It's worse then what I thought*
< Salia > ~as if changing the topic~ There is a festival of sorts this afternoon...
< Elijah > oh really? For what reason?
< Salia > Anniversary.... when this all started. Or at least that is its cover meaning... most use it as an excuse to get together with others without worrying about getting in trouble.
< Elijah > Are you saying that you are going?
< Salia > ~looks back to her work~ I have to go... I am dancing..
< Elijah > Dancing? ~can't really picture her dancing~
< Salia > Most of the festival is in song and dance... storytelling, the warding off of spirits.. and so on..
< Elijah > Do you think it would be ok if I came and watched. I'm kind of curious.
< Salia > If you can keep yourself from attention from unwanted eyes. But you have to attend if you are in the village. They always have a speaker from the main army..
< Elijah > ah... I see.. I promise, I'll try to keep my raccoon sense away.
< Salia > ~adds after awhile~ And you must stay hidden no matter what.
< Elijah > I will.... *Why? I know I'm not from here...*
< Salia > ~looks back at him to see his face for the response~ Its highly important that you do.
< Elijah > I know and I told you I would.
< Salia > ~she nods and looks back down at her work~ good..
< Elijah > ~watches her for a few seconds~ What are you guys doing anyways?
< Salia > Preparing the ground for planting...
< Elijah > planting what?
< Salia > Wheat.. each village specializes in one or more crops... food is communal in that our harvests are split amongst everyone in each division.
< Elijah > ahhh.... ~looks around not sure what to say~
< Salia > As you may notice, all technology has been wiped out... there is nothing left from those times. ~says as if she's either trying to keep the conversation alive, or merely for him to know~
< Elijah > Yes I can see that... which is really quite sad.
< Salia > In some ways yes... it puts everyone to work.. and away from other things.
< Elijah > ~nods, still scanning the area, as if he senses something.~
< Salia > ~looks up at him~ What is it?
< Elijah > I dont' know... something just doesn't feel right. I never had a feeling this strong before.
< Salia > ~looks at him a bit worried~
< Elijah > *What is it… what could it be?* ~his mind is filled with many questions, continues looking but doesn't say anything to Salia~
< Salia > ~she pauses a bit before returning to work, a bit more cautious now~
< Elijah > ~relaxes~ Well what ever it is gone now... but I have a feeling it will back...
< Salia > Do you have any possible ideas what it is? ~she looks at him briefly as she works~
< Elijah > No, but it did feel slightly familiar. ~thinks to himself~ *What is it??!?!?*
< Salia > I hope whatever you sense isn't dangerous...
< Elijah > I hope so too. ~he looks worried~
< Salia > ~she stands up straight as if to stretch her back. She had been doing this for the last several hours not including her encounter with the two men. She looks back at him~ I had planned on being done earlier than this... but not everyone showed up this morning..
< Elijah > Understandable.... I think I'm going to go back to the house though. I need sometime to myself... to think.
< Salia > ~nods~ I'll see you later then..
< Elijah > ok. bye. ~he heads back to the house, sorry to have to leave her. Back at the small house, Elijah entered. He shivered, as if something had entered him. He looks around cautiously. Only sees a group of kids. He then enters~
< Elijah > ~he sits down on the tiny bed, and stares at the plain white wall.~ *What could it be? What was that feeling? Why was it so strong?*
< Voice > ~A dark voice seems to blow into the room~ Elijah... you know who it is....
< Elijah > ~He looks around the room, nervous~ No, I don't! Who are you? Show yourself.
< Voice > oh, I'm hurt... you should know who I am.... you know me very well.....
< Elijah > I have no idea who you are! Show yourself, face me like a man!
< Voice > But Elijah you are barely a man yourself. ~the voice laughs lightly~
< Elijah > Where are you? I demand you show yourself!
< Voice > I can't ... I'm in your head, and I'm playing with it, as you already know.... but soon enough you will see my form in front ... A form you will know but won't recognize at first. ~as fast as it came it left and Elijah is alone again.~

< Salia > ~as the morning progresses, the noise level rises as preparations are being made. Salia and the other workers return from the fields. She walks to the small house and knocks lightly on the door~ Elijah?
< Elijah > ~he stands up, it was the first time he had moved since the voice had came~ Yes, Salia.
< Salia > I thought I'd let you know I've returned.. the festival will begin in a few hours.
< Elijah > That's good. ~sounds preoccupied.~
< Salia > ~she pauses briefly~ Are you alright?
< Elijah > No. ~he says flatly~
< Salia > ~she looks into the room, but stays by the door~ Do you want to talk about it?
< Elijah > It came... the thing... the thing I sensed... or anyways its voice did. ~he slightly trembling now.~
< Salia > ~she walks to him, and puts a hand on his shoulder, but says nothing~
< Elijah > ~he looks at her~ It said I knew him, and that I would see his form soon.
< Salia > Did you recognize its voice?
< Elijah > Yeah, sorta, but I can't place it anywhere... ~seems to be searching his mind. He sits down once again~
< Salia > ~sits next to him~
< Elijah > I wish I could place... ~he looks at her.~ Something bad is going to happen tonight... I can feel it.
< Salia > Maybe with this warning we can be more prepared.... for whatever it is.
< Elijah > I hope you are right. But I want to warn you now, almost all of the times that I've been to they have dealt a lot with death, and blood.
< Salia > ~nods slowly, but says nothing~
< Elijah > Anyways, about this festival ~wanting to change to the subject~ how am I suppose to stay out of the way?
< Salia > You should be safe enough if you stick with larger crowds... and away from the military "panel"... they tend to stick to one place. Most of the "entertainment" takes place in the center of the village later on in the day.. Most of the afternoon is spent with game playing, eating and chatting.
< Elijah > So as long as I stay out of the way I should be ok? Should I hide, or can I still wander?
< Salia > You can wander, it'll be fine... just, like I said, stay away from those who look like they are soldiers.
< Elijah > oh, ok....
< Salia > I will not be needed until later on, so I am free to wander with you if you wish.
< Elijah > So how long do we have until the festival starts?
< Salia > It should be starting anytime now.. it runs all afternoon and ends with the storytelling and dancing by evening.
< Elijah > Do you want to head down now?
< Salia > Sure. ~she heads out of the house~
< Elijah > ~Elijah follows~
< Salia > ~as they head toward the center, they see increasingly more people gathered around everywhere, chatting~
< Elijah > ~Elijah watches as people walk by observing what is going on~
< Salia > ~in several places, there are all kinds of children gathered in game playing. Further out, they can see older groups playing a variety of games every where from darts to soccer. It appears to be a lot like a giant family reunion with all the talking and game playing as well as food~
< Elijah > I didn't realize there was so many people, during a normal day, the town looks deserted.
< Salia > ~she nods~ Vast majority of people are out working either in the fields or within their homes.
< Elijah > ~nods in amusement. He watches a couple of children chasing each other.~ Ah to be a child again....
< Salia > Yeah.. when everything consisted of play and sleep. ~smiles~ Simplicity...
< Elijah > And sincerity...
< Salia > ~nods~
< Elijah > ~they walk for a while, watching what is going on around them.~

< Salia > ~after several hours, people start drifting toward the village center itself, a few elders are there preparing for a story. Salia looks to Elijah~ I best go get ready.
< Elijah > ~he grins~ Ok, I'll be watching for ya.
< Salia > ~she heads off toward some of the smaller buildings off to the side of the center~
< Elijah > ~Elijah starts heading for the center, following the large group which is heading that way. As he is passing a tent near by, out of the corner of his eye, he sees a dark cloaked figure. He quickly became curious, and follows. When he reaches the side of the tent he stops, because he can see the figure talking to a solider. Salia’s warning of the soldiers was sounded in his head, so he stayed back and watched, for a few minutes.~
< CF > It is time, we shall carry it out now...
< Elijah > ~with hearing the voice, Elijah's face went pale... it was the voice he had heard earlier that day.~ *No! Where have I heard that voice?! What does it want!* ~the solider and cf talk for a few more minutes but their voices are too soft for him to hear now. But when they split, Elijah decided that he would follow and figure out who this dark figure it is.~
< Elijah > ~Soon they parted and Elijah follows CF a decent distance behind, always keeping the cloak in view.~
< Salia > ~the story tellers had moved to the side, and a few musicians were gathered. He sees Salia talking to what might be the lead musician. Her clothing is made of a light blue loose top and flowing pants. Her hair is down, with the exception of her "bangs" pulled back into a small pony tail in the back with a ribbon~
< Elijah > ~Elijah doesn't seem to notice, he follows the CF into the crowd, it is now difficult to see. But he concentrates and keeps a good eye on him~
< Salia > ~she moves toward the central part of the stage as the musicians begin playing, slow at first, but gradually a bit faster. She begins her storytelling dance to the music. The music seems to have an Egyptian feel to it~
< Elijah > ~Shortly after the music starts, Elijah looses the CF in the crowd~ *Where did you go? I know you are up to no good.* ~Suddenly Elijah feels a force pull him towards Salia, and her dancing. He has to force himself to search the crowd. Every time though he finds himself watching Salia and listening to the music~ *Elijah! Concentrate. Must find that figure*
< Salia > ~the music has slowed down, to a more mournful tone, she moves much slower, she seems to be doing more of a kata than a dance, or perhaps its the other way around~
< Elijah > ~then on other side of the crowd, the dark figure emerges to the front. Elijah sees him, but can't seem to say anything or move. He's frozen and controlled like he was in the other times. Fear grips him, when he sees that the dark figure is watching Salia.~ *Salia! No!*
< Salia > ~as the music speeds up and crescendos, her dance resumes its quickened pace. Moves slightly closer to the crowds as she dances~
< CF > ~When Salia gets close enough the cf steps out in front of her, grabbing her by her wrist.~ Finally, I have gotten you.
< Salia > ~stops suddenly, her eyes open in surprise, almost unsure what just happened. She then tries to pull away~
< CF > ~he jerks her around, and speaks to the crowd~ This girl is a traitor to your people and worse of all she is a traitor to the Army! ~he tightens his grip and looks at her.~ I've been waiting for a long time to get you!
< Salia > ~she looks at him, almost seems to be fire in her eyes~ Who are you.
< CF > Oh you don't know? I'm surprised, I thought you would be able to sense it. ~he sounds almost mockingly.~
< Salia > ~freezes briefly as if realization hits her, eyes widening slightly~ You? ~somewhere between questioning and an accusation~
< CF > Yes. It is me. ~he says laughing. At that he removes the hood. ~
< Elijah > ~Elijah watches frozen. He seems shocked to see who it is. ~ *It's me....*
< CF/Elijah > Salia, I knew the right time would come to get you. Who ever thought that your own cousin would be the death of you.
< Salia > You talk of me being the traitor ~she hisses, but says loud enough~ You are the one who betrayed us. ~she struggles again, harder this time~
< CF/Elijah > ~he smirks at her. ~ I just got a better offer.
< Salia > ~trying to free her wrists~
< CF/Elijah > ~he lets go of her letting her fall, laughing evilly. He then pulls out his sword.~
< Salia > ~she broke her fall with her arms, as she had twisted around. She quickly scoots back away from him, standing up~
< CF/Elijah > ~he points his sword at her.~ Tonight you shall die.
< Elijah > ~Still unable to move.~ *NOOOOO!!!!!*
< Salia > ~her own sword appears in her hand at a flick of the wrist~
< CF/Elijah > Ah just like your mother, have to go down fighting. You know she ended this very way. ~he grins again~
< Salia > ~she grips the handle of her sword hard briefly~
< CF/Elijah > ~At this he lunges at her, swinging his sword, towards her~
< Salia > ~she brings up her sword quickly to block it, turns to the side so that with his momentum, he won't plow into her. Locking swords, with her pushing upward~
< CF/Elijah > ~he quickly, unlocks the swords and swings his at her head~
< Salia > ~brings her sword quickly around to hit it away, she jumps backward. Seems to be only fighting defensively~
< CF/Elijah > What's the matter, you're not fighting back? You scared?
< Salia > I am not afraid of you, but I will not allow you to talk me into fighting against my own family.
< CF/Elijah > Yes, and that also was what your mother said. Family is the death of all of you. Oh, wait, you are the only one left... I ran into mom earlier....
< Salia > ~looks horrified, bringing her sword up in front of her, crosswise, but doesn't move~ You didn't.... ~drops off~
< CF/Elijah > ~he grins again~ I'll let you decide that.... ~he jabs his sword at her.~
< Salia > ~smacks it away hard with her own sword, whiping it down faster than he could follow~
< CF/Elijah > ~a quick sense of fear flashes in his eyes, but quickly gains composure.~ You know you will go down just like them.
< Salia > You don't sound so sure of yourself anymore, ~returns the sword to the cross-wise position in front of her~
< CF/Elijah > I'm not afraid of anything. ~at this he swoops down into a leg sweep, knocking her to the ground. He soon has his sword at her throat.~
< Salia > ~she manages to get her sword between her and his sword. Pushes upward hard with one hand on the hilt and the other on the end of the flat part of the blade~
< CF/Elijah > ~he steps back with the force. He knows now that he can't win, but doesn't show it.~
< Salia > ~scoots back away from him, jumping to her feet, sword continuously up and in front of her~
< Elijah > ~his eyes suddenly can move and he seems to be able to move freely. His eyes stop on a solider that is on top of a building. He has a bow drawn back, and getting ready to fire. Elijah recognizes the solider he saw himself talking to. He quickly turns back to Salia.~ Salia! Watch out!!!
< Salia > ~she looks away from her opponent, hearing her name called out, then the arrow is fired, and hits her, straight in the heart.~
< Elijah > No!!!!!!
< Salia > ~she gasps, and drops down to the ground, losing hold of her sword~
< CF/Elijah > ~The cloaked Elijah walks over her, looking over her~ I told you I would get you. ~At that he stabs her, causing her to die instantly. He laughs evilly~
< Elijah > ~suddenly Elijah finds himself back outside the command center. He's body is shaking, unsure of what was going on. After gaining composure he quickly runs back to the command center. Wanting to be alone. He enters the room, he stops trying to catch his breath. Still slightly shaking.~
< Elijah > ~Elijah slides down to the ground along side one of the panels. He's mind full of unwanted thoughts. He's shaking terribly~ *Why?? How could I do something like that? That can't be my future??? That can't be me???? I would never kill my family! Never! Or would I???* He pauses, *Why me???? Why would my life end up there? I don't understand? Would this be the cause of working with Darrin? With the Dark one? No! I'm neutral they can't convince me of doing something like that. I would never let them* ~similar thoughts go through his mind.~
< Salia > ~he hears someone enter the room from the opposite side that he is on. Salia doesn't see him~
< Elijah > ~he looks up, seeing her, stands up quickly trying to cover up his emotions, though he is still trembling slightly~
< Salia > ~wasn't looking in his direction when he stood up, she looks back over the room, and appears a bit startled to see him~ Elijah? ~she pauses, then~ Are you okay?
< Elijah > ~looks at her.~ Yeah, I'm fine. ~sounds kind of shaky~
< Salia > ~she frowns slightly, knowing he's lying~ You sure?
< Elijah > Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Nothing's bothering me? Why would anything be bothering me? ~looks around the room, trying to stay away from her eyes~
< Salia/Romeion > Because of your tone of voice, the quickness of your speech. You are trembling, and your mind is swirling with questions. ~her voice sounds a bit different~
< Elijah > ~he suddenly breaks down.~ Salia. I went through a time hole some how. I went it to the future, it was horrible! ~tears are now welling up in his eyes.~
< Salia/Romeion > ~she nods slightly~ I know ~her voice sounds lower, and quieter~
< Elijah > you know, how do you know? ~he looks confused.~
< Romeion > I played a paw in it.
< Elijah > ~he's head snaps in her direction~ What do you mean?
< Romeion > ~her eyes are a solid color of yellow~ I was asked to show you some things.
< Elijah > By who? And why?
< Romeion > I cannot answer that first one. And the second is to show you some things so that you can make a better judgment.
< Elijah > ~looks at her baffled~ I don't understand. So you showed me all those horrible things, so I would learn a lesson?
< Romeion > Yes. Each have things in common. But none of which is on the surface. Not all things are as they seem.
< Elijah > And what is my lesson? I don't understand. All I know is you sent me and I saw a lot of blood... ~lies slightly, not want to admit that he was working with Darrin~
< Romeion > ~looking toward him~ I know more than you expect Elijah. We Spirit Animals know more than our charge.
< Elijah > ~shakes his head.~ So your not really Salia right know? You are the Catsi?
< Romeion > Yes, I am speaking through her.
< Elijah > But she doesn't know does she?
< Romeion > No, she will not.
< Elijah > Good, cause I don't want her to know. This is something I want to change on my own. I plan on fixing this. I don't want to be responsible for her death. ~the tears come back and he shakes his thoughts away~
< Romeion > I had not wanted to show you the last, but it was necessary.
< Elijah > ~nods~ I understand, but it was definitely convincing. The others, made me think, but really didn't make the connection. Now I know where it could lead me. That is not a road I want.
< Romeion > Good. That is a beginning. But your road will be far from easy.
< Elijah > ~sighs~ I know....
< Romeion > Take it from one who knows. ~he pauses, then~ Trust in your raccoon, he can help you.
< Elijah > Yes.. ~thanks for a few minutes.~ thank you...
< Romeion > ~nods in acceptance, then she closes her eyes~
< Elijah > ~watches what she is doing~
< Salia > ~nearly drops once her SA "disappears", but she catches herself on a panel~
< Elijah > Are you alright? ~looks concerned~
< Salia > Yeah... ~her voice is normal~ though I wish I'd stop doing that... ~doesn't even seem to be aware of what happened at all~
< Elijah > Doing what? ~looks worried. Hoping that she doesn't remember anything.~
< Salia > Blanking out like that... nothing serious.. just a few seconds.
< Elijah > You do this regularly?
< Salia > No... just every so often.. ~says quietly as if she doesn't like to admit it~
< Elijah > Well, I hope there is nothing wrong?
< Salia > Not that I'm aware of..
< Elijah > Oh good~ looks slightly relieved.~
< Salia > ~she pauses, with an almost blank expression on her face~ I have no idea why I even came out here...
< Elijah > Strange.... ~tries not to slip and say something about knowing anything.~
< Salia > Well.. I suppose I might as well go back to what I was doing.. ~seems a bit confused, and turns back to return to where she was before~
< Elijah > Oh, ok, well I guess I'll talk to you later. ~grins at her for a second~
< Salia > ~before she entirely leaves, nods~ bye ~disappears through the doorway~
< Elijah > ~watches her leave the room, not sure where to go. He thinks for a few minutes, and then remembers a special engagement that had slipped his mind. He quickly exits the building and heads down to the forest, he stops suddenly, for Darrin is standing there waiting, not looking very happy.~ I'm sorry...I...mm...mmm late.. ~sounds nervous, the silence is chilling~
< Darrin > I would advise making this the last time. ~says shortly~
< Elijah > I plannn on it... ~breaths in deeply~ Infact, I waa..ssa thinkin... that this could be the last time you see me. ~says the last part fast.~
< Darrin > ~looks at him~ Oh really? What makes you think you have the choice?
< Elijah > I thought I was on a trial basis.? ~sounds surprised~
< Darrin > The trial period was over a long time ago.
< Elijah > How long ago?? How come no one told me?
< Darrin > You never asked. ~smiles evilly at him~
< Elijah > So I'm stuck? No if ands or buts, I have to do something I don't want to do. ~sounds slightly angry~
< Darrin > Unless you wish to be dead.
< Elijah > ~he gulps.~ So that's it, death or you.... doesn't sound very appealing... either choice.
< Darrin > Its all you have to choice from, death or live and join us.
< Elijah > I guess I don't have much of a choice... I guess I choose to live.....
< Darrin > Good. Then we can start your real training. ~he says, knowing that it will sway Elijah’s mind~
< Elijah > real training?
< Darrin > ~nods~ You have a great potential with your magic, and we have much to work on.
< Elijah > magic? ~his ears perk~
< Darrin > Yes, you will learn to use your powers to their full potential.
< Elijah > wow! cool. ~he sounds excited now~
< Darrin > You will train under and alongside some of the best that we have to offer.
< Elijah > ~he listens with enthusiasm now~
< Darrin > And we shall start as soon as possible, preferably now.
< Elijah > Now... not good... no offense, but I've disappearing a lot lately, and I think they are starting to get suspicious.
< Darrin > I can give you until this evening, then you must be prepared to leave.
< Elijah > I can do that... I'll be ready...
< Darrin > Be sure you are. ~vanishes~
< Elijah > ~he turns to leave, with a smile on his face, when he runs smack dab into someone~
< Stephanie > Well, that was an interesting little conversation that you were having there.
< Elijah > ~looks surprised~ How much did you hear?
< Stephanie > Enough... we are leaving...
< Elijah > No, I'm leaving... Darrin doesn't want you.
< Stephanie > ~Pain goes across her face~ No we are going somewhere else, so you won't leave with him. I’ll find a way for you study magic, but light magic. What he will teach you is dark.
< Elijah > How do you know? You don't even know what his training is like!
< Stephanie > No I don't, but your aunt does.
< Elijah > ~startled~ You wouldn't tell her this would you.
< Stephanie > Not unless you come peacefully.
< Elijah > ~bows his head~ Alright I'll go.
