< Elijah > ~confused, he doesn't really know what to do. He just stands there, staring~
< Salia > ~walks down the hallway, noticing that Elijah is just standing there~ Elijah?
< Elijah > ~shakes his head, making himself come out of shock. He turns to look at her~ Hi, what day is it?
< Salia > ~looks at him strangely~ Its the morning of a Tuesday.
< Elijah > ~says to himself~ *So no time has passed like she said.* ~grins at Salia~ Thank you. ~he finishes he's way into the kitchen and goes and gets something to eat~
< Salia > ... No problem ~continues watching him curiously, then follows him in~ Why did you want to know?
< Elijah > ~sits down at the table facing her. He pours some fruit loops into a bowl~ Oh, I just couldn't remember.
< Salia > Have some sort of appointment that you need to go to? ~teasingly~
< Elijah > ~he pours some milk into his cereal. He starts eating. Looks at her, and slightly rolls his eyes~ Me, have an appointment, never. Remember I have as much of a life as you do.
< Salia > Not that we'd know what one was anyway. ~says fairly flat as if halfway teasing and halfway complaining~
< Elijah > True, very true. ~he says with a huge mouth full~
< Salia > Makes me wish that things were like they used to be, when mom was our age. At least then there was things to do.
< Elijah > ~grins slightly~ Yeah, but they didn't have a life either. Work, work, work. But at least things would have been slightly more interesting.
< Salia > Slightly? Nothing happens here. At least then they had training... at the least.
< Elijah > ~continues eating, and doesn't say anything else. But continues smiling~
< Salia > What is up with that smile of yours? Its as if you know something that I don't.
< Elijah > ~stops and then looks up at her~ Me... no... never.... I'm just in a good mood. Is it illegal to smile now?
< Salia > Occasionally wonder that myself.
< Elijah > Maybe later we should go cause some mischief so it won't be so boring. ~he grins at her wider~
< Salia > And then we can guess what sort of trouble we'd be in. ~says sarcastically but smiles after she spoke~
< Elijah > ~smile fads~ Your right... bad idea... sorry. ~shivers slightly~
< Salia > ~looks at him concerned~ What's wrong?
< Elijah > ~looks at her blankly~ I don't know. I guess I just got a cold chill, but it almost felt like something was there. I’m fine now though. ~goes back to his cereal~
< Salia > hmm.. ~she leans back against the cupboard/counter~ Then why do I get the feeling you're leaving out things.
< Elijah > What?
< Salia > Nothing.. ~she stands back up and then heads for the door~
< Elijah > ~watches her leave but still doesn't say anything~
< Salia > ~she disappears down the hallway~
< Elijah > ~Elijah refills his bowl, and begins eating again~
< Cougar > Morning Elijah. ~Irene had said as she entered the room, almost silently~
< Elijah > ~looks up at her~ Morning. How are you this morning?
< Cougar > ~she shrugs slightly as she goes to the cupboard~ Same as every morning I suppose. And you? ~she looks back at him~
< Elijah > That bad huh? ~he grins at her~
< Cougar > ~smiles, then looks back at the cupboards~ No, just not exactly exciting.
< Elijah > ahhhh... strange I was just talking to Salia about that.
< Cougar > hmm, yes I suppose I could see her point in that.
< Elijah > Yes, nothing happens anymore. I guess that's a good thing, but when your bored you starting seeing a different side of thing. Especially if your a light warrior out of work.
< Cougar > Yes, I know about that. Though not all of the group would agree to that.
< Elijah > True.... Mom would see it that we did a good job. Me, well I'm not quite sure where I stand on that yet.
< Cougar > Give it several fights and you'll see her point... especially if its a bad one.
< Elijah > yeah, I guess that's true. Though, technically I’ve never been in a bad fight to know. I guess thats good.... ~he's in deep thought now~
< Cougar > What do you mean by technically?
< Elijah > Well, I've never been in a bad fight before. I've had dreams about it though, those are not pretty. ~covers up quickly~
< Cougar > ~nods, and then more to herself~ Funny, almost seems like I can still sense his magic...
< Elijah > who's? ~he asks curiously~
< Cougar > ~she shuts the cupboards~ Oh, nothing.. Its probably just my imagination.
< Elijah > Oh, ok. ~finishes the last of his cereal, and gets up to leave~
< Elijah > ~he turns back, and then asks~ So when's my next lesson?
< Cougar > Give me a couple hours to finish up the morning routine.
< Elijah > Cool. See you then. ~he leaves the room, almost skipping. He decides that will give him time to meet up with Darrin, like he was suppose to. He heads for the door. He'll take the long way. He reaches the door and walks out. He feels a bit of a chill as he walks out into the air. He shivers,~ I guess I should have worn my coat. ~but he continues walking. He heads for the woods. He shivers again.~ This is strange. First I'm cold and then I get hot... and now I get a chill again.
< Voice > ~a voice speaks but he cannot tell where from or whom~ Perhaps you're ill
< Elijah > ~he circles himself, looking for who contributes the voice~ Who said that?
< Scene > ~nothing. A flash of white light appears at the edge of the desert/forest.~
< Elijah > I must be seeing a mirage. ~but he moves toward. something has control over him and he can't help but see what it is~
< Voice > ~the voice again, more demanding~ Who are you to come this way?
< Elijah > What? I live here, and have been in these parts a hundred times, and you are just now questioning me. Maybe I should be questioning you. ~sounds slightly aggravated~
< Voice > wooo, conversation sounds familiar. ~it says, then the light darts his way as a long piece of ribbon~
< Elijah > Stalm? ~he says questionly~
< Stalm > That's what I'm called... or yelled at is more the appropriate term.
< Elijah > Oh, great. I did it again. ~he slaps his forehead.~
< Stalm > Its not fun coming to visit us? ~sounds sad~
< Elijah > No, it's interesting... but I'm not suppose to be here. I should be in my own time.
< Stalm > Maybe a reason. Something, someone wants you here. Or perhaps its perfectly random. Random things are interesting.
< Elijah > What if I'm tired of all the time jumps? You know the time I meet up with you guys before wasn't the only place I've been at. I'm kind of getting tired of it. ~sounds slightly angered~
< Stalm > Well if you go about it that way. ~he flickers and then darts into the woods randomly~
< Elijah > Where are you going? ~he shouts towards him~
< Voice > ~a voice approaching Elijah~ Elijah? ~Seth walks out from the woods toward him~
< Elijah > ~turns toward him~ Seth, well I guess it's nice to see you again.
< Seth > A bit surprising as well.
< Elijah > I'm getting used to this time jumping with out asking, so nothing surprises me anymore. ~he says slightly dry~
< Seth > You've been through more?
< Elijah > Yeah, one other one. Back to the time when my aunt was young and fighting with the light army.
< Seth > I bet that was quite the experience. "The good ol days" as everyone seems to refer to it as.
< Elijah > Yeah, I guess you could call them that... until Darrin decided to show up.
< Seth > Well yes, Darrin does tend to ruin moods. On one perspective that is. That's also the time that he started establishing his little empire.
< Elijah > ~nods, but doesn't say anything~
< Seth > Course it didn't expand too much for awhile. Even with the sword of darkness he had rivals.
< Elijah > ~still doesn't say anything, but this time turns his head away from him~
< Seth > hmm, I suppose you know all this.. practically required of new recruits. A sort of History 101 I suppose.
< Elijah > I know it all too well. ~still not looking at him. There is a slight sound of pain in his voice~
< Seth > From the looks of your jumping I bet you will.
< Elijah > ~just nods, and lowers his head~
< Seth > Starting to doubt are we?
< Elijah > ~looks up him~ I've always doubted. I doubt both sides. I thought I told you that before.
< Seth > Well its been awhile. ~shrugs~ That and I never remember who's story belongs to whom..
< Elijah > ~just shrugs~
< Seth > There's nothing unusual about doubting. We all doubt, everyone of us. It’s just a matter of finding our answer, whether that's on the light, the dark or the neutral side.
< Elijah > That's the confusing part. I have no feelings towards any of it.... it's... it's almost... it's almost as if I don't care about anything.
< Seth > Been there. Though little things will get through to you, whether you want them to or not.
< Elijah > Yes... ~his voice fades out, unsure how to continue~
< Seth > I suppose that's where that annoying little term that Coug uses comes in. Destiny, fate, whatever you wish to call it. It may be an old term but can be still applicable.
< Elijah > ~nods in agreement, even though unsure how to respond~
< Seth > Though I suppose one should practice what they say before giving advice. However... sometimes they are the ones to give the better advice.
< Elijah > It's amazing how life can cease to amaze you, and the rest of the world.
< Seth > Just think, here we all are, we select few, learning more in a few days while the rest of our kind barely learns it in their lifetime. Or part of your kind in your case.
< Elijah > ~grins slightly~ Yes, and I used to think my life was boring. I've decided that I will never complain as long as I get out of this mess again.
< Seth > ~smiles slightly~ Then you shall forget that within a 100 years or so and complain.
< Elijah > Probably....
< Seth > The ill affects of longevity I suppose
< Elijah > yep.
< Seth > Though in our line of work, who knows what length that would be. Especially those of us who dwell between. Make the wrong move and you'll have two sides against you. And you think Darrin can be harsh.
< Elijah > Oh, I know Darrin is nothing compared to some...
< Seth > Are you referring to the dark or to the light?
< Elijah > Both.
< Seth > A strange thought plays with my mind.. Why did you end up here twice? Not that I expect you to know the answer of course.
< Elijah > Don't worry it's crossed my mind several times since I got here, and it kind of angered me also. I have no idea. I just keep getting these weird feelings come over me and I can't help to go places and then I end up in another time.
< Seth > Perhaps you are getting help where I didn't. Something or someone may be showing you these things so that you can learn from them.
< Elijah > Who knows, it might be the total opposite also
< Seth > Ultimately that's up to your interpretation. You're given a chance that many do not receive.
< Elijah > Only time will tell.
< Seth > Or times. Learning from the past, seeing the possible outcomes. A double-edged sword. And to tell the truth, I have no idea where I'm getting half of this stuff.
< Elijah > ~shrugs~ I guess that makes two of us.
< Seth > I'd certainly think I was crazy if I were listening to me..
< Elijah > No, not crazy... just somewhat have lived what I am going through.
< Seth > Which is probably why you keep coming to see me.
< Elijah > Probably... but like I said before who knows.
< Seth > Your not one for attempting to understand things are you?
< Elijah > Not really... I'm one who believes things will be shown in the future no matter how much they confuse me.
< Seth > I think I probably gained that "thirst". Certainly didn't care about it before I came here.
< Elijah > What?
< Seth > What do you mean by what?
< Elijah > care about what? what thirst?
< Seth > The want to understand.
< Elijah > ahhhh.... I don't know if there is such a thing. I've never wanted to understand. Except now.
< Seth > Ah, see. Its rubbing off onto you. Its very contagious.
< Elijah > Who knows. ~grins~
< Seth > Its a good thing I'm not your teacher. Whoever that lucky person must be must get frustrated quickly with you. ~somewhat teasing~
< Elijah > Oh trust me, she does. My aunt is always saying things I don't understand.
< Seth > Don't worry, the first wielder said the same thing. But who does understand her half the time?
< Stalm > ~a silver streak zooms over head~
< Elijah > ~shrugs and then smiles to see Stalm again~ It's good to see you've came back.
< Stalm > Though you won't see me much longer. ~he flickers~
< Seth > Shorter this time.
< Stalm > ~his silvery form elongates vertically making a long silver slit~ I do what is told of me.
< Elijah > ~looks questioningly but doesn't say anything.~
< Stalm > ~his form flashes and reveals the gateway that Elijah used before. But of what he can see of the other side is thick woods~
< Elijah > ~looks at Seth~ Do you think it is safe to go back there?
< Seth > ~shrugs~ Safe or not, you can not stay here.
< Elijah > ~nods and walks through. The gate snaps shut behind him. He is in a heavily wooded area, nothing like where he had just left. He is standing on a narrow path. He hears footfalls approaching. Listens carefully trying to figure out what it is. He sees them before they see him. It appears to be a train of people. There are two walking in front. They are all wearing similar colors, and each of the horses bear some sort of black insignia on their saddle blankets. Elijah ducks into a near by branch. Realizing that he wasn't in his time still~
< Leader > ~the front rider seems to be of some importance because of the decorations on the horse's bridle and saddle, they stop a few feet from him where he is hiding. The rider up front looks at the two walkers. He can't identify anyone due to their cloaks, but the speaker is female~ Admit it we're lost.
< Walker1 > ~one of the walkers turns back to her slightly nervous~ well...
< Leader > Just say it.
< Walker1 > ~he swallows~ Yes we're lost.
< Leader > Okay now that we settled that.
< Elijah > ~notices that the insignia on the horses blankets is that of a dragon~
< Rider > ~one of the riders behind the lead spoke up~ Going to have to ask for directions then?
< Rider2 > ~another rider~ Yeah, lets walk up to some random person and ask where we can find the rest of Darrin's army. I'm sure they'll gladly tell us.
< Elijah > ~Elijah watches intensely trying to see their faces clearer~
< Leader > ~the lead rider turns back toward them~ That may be what we have to do. Persuasion works quite well when used in the right manner.
< Leader > ~a few of the riders snicker at this. They are still moving, even though slowly. The lead's mount moves up to the bush that Elijah is in. It baulks away slightly, causing the leader to turn forward and look at the bush. Elijah can somewhat see her face now, she's about 14ish in age and appears human~
< Elijah > ~he still doesn't know who it is, and tries to stay hidden~
< Walker1 > ~one of the walkers approaches the leader, as if to help calm the horse~
< Leader > ~turning toward the bush~ If there is someone there, I suggest you show yourself now.
< Elijah > ~scared now, he stands. He's eyes resemble his SA's eyes while in fear. He says nothing, just watches to see what they will do next~
< Walker1 > Odd to find a human around here.
< Leader > ~ with authority ~ State your name and rank.
< Elijah > ~voice is shaky~ Name's Elijah and I have no rank. Because.... well... I'm not... from around... here.
< Walker 1 > We can see that human.
< Leader > ~looks at the walker as if to silence him, then looks to Elijah~ Then what are you doing here?
< Riders > ~some of the other riders have their hands near the swords at their sides, as if they are all debating whether he is an enemy or not~
< Elijah > Ahh.... well I really don't know, madam.
< Leader > ~smiles somewhat~ At least you are knowledgeable in the ways to treat superiors. ~she seemed to be directing it to the other riders in somewhat of a joke as if they rarely call her as her title suggests~
< Elijah > ~just looks at her too scared to talk~
< Leader > ~to him~ As long as you are not of the light army, you have no reason to fear us.
< Rider > ~one of the riders in the back who appears to be reptilian snorts at this. But no comments are made~
< Elijah > ~takes in a breath and then says~ Well, I guess I can say I'm not of the light army. ~remembers what Irene had told him~
< Walker 1 > What do you mean by that?
< Elijah > Well, it means that I'm not with the light army, and I'm not with you guys either. Like I said before I'm not from around here.
< Riders > ~the riders whisper amongst themselves~
< Leader > A neutral human.. I do suppose they exist. Didn't realize we'd find one off-world.
< Elijah > Off-world?
< Leader > ~she looks at him oddly~ You have no idea where you are, do you?
< Elijah > No I don't. ~he admits, sounds embarrassed~
< Walker 1 > Not the place to be human.
< Leader > But you did find the right group to run into. You may accompany us if you wish.
< Reptilian rider > You might actually live longer that way. ~he reminds Elijah somewhat of Scales, but its obviously an earlier generation of Scalene~
< Elijah > ~thinks for a moment~ Yeah, from the way it sounds, I have no choice but to go with you.
< R Rider > ~the reptilian moves his mount toward him. He springs off and offers the reigns to Elijah~
< Elijah > ~looks at him~ Are you sure?
< R Rider > We can keep a better eye on you if you are riding solo.
< Walker2 > ~the second walker, who was silent up to this point, a female voice~ Unless your scared to ride.
< Leader > The horse is tame enough for even the most inexperienced of riders.
< Elijah > ~nods~ Thanks. ~ He walks over and climbs on the horse~
< R Rider > ~the reptilian stays near the horse, but moves back enough as not to be in the way.~
< Leader > That is Se-lax. ~then she motions toward the 1st walker and then the second~ They are Lehaf of the Shikon, and Rho of the Seeray
< Elijah > ~nods listening~
< Cougar > ~she continues~ My name is Cougar. We are on our way to meet up with the rest of the army... however we are a bit lost.
< Elijah > ~tries to cover his shock *Cougar couldn't be... Irene??*~ Well, where are we and maybe I can help? I doubt it but maybe.
< Rho > ~turning back to him~ We are on the planet Tinaria.
< Elijah > ~nods in confirmation to his own statement~ Yep, I have no clue, sorry. ~then says to himself~ How did I get here?
< Se-lax > ~who over heard him, says quietly back~ Something we wonder as well.
< Elijah > ~looks slightly startled at him~
< Cougar > Come on, we best get moving. We're late enough as it is. ~the group moves out heading in the same direction that they were going earlier~
< Cougar > ~keeps her horse abreast of Elijah's horse with Se-lax following behind them and Rho and Lehaf in front of them. The rest of the group follows behind the front part. Cougar pushes back her hood so that it rests on her shoulders, so that she can see better~
< Elijah > ~watches everybody cautiously, not sure what to think about them. He is still slightly scared, but doesn't say anything. He looks at the leader..*it is...*~
< Cougar > ~she turns to him~ So you say you have no idea about this place.. How'd you get here?
< Elijah > I have no clue.... I really don't. See I'm from Earth. And one minute I'm there, and now I'm here.
< Cougar > ~her voice lowers~ A time traveler?
< Elijah > ~shocked~ Yeah... how'd you know that?
< Cougar > I'm from Earth. Your clothing and your speech are different.
< Elijah > *ok, so she hasn't changed that much... but her eyes....there so... so... dark....and... somewhat scary* Wow, I don't know if I would have come up with that, I probably would have come up with just that they are weird, or different what every you want to call it.. The strange thing about the time thing is I have no clue why it's happen. I just really want to be in my own time and my own home. ~startled at his own word home~
< Cougar > ~she nods~ As for why I would think of it. We are exposed to many things. We travel around quite a bit, quelling rebellions... thus the reason for our unfamiliarity with this place.
< Elijah > I guess that would give us at least one thing in common... we're totally lost.
< Cougar > We won't be for long. If we don't rendezvous with the main army, Darrin'll send out scouts or come himself. I prefer the first option.
< Elijah > *Darrin!!!!!* Well, I think I would too if Darrin is anything like the he is in my time.
< Cougar > So I'm sure most of this is old news for you then.
< Elijah > Actually its not... I don't know that much about his past. Just what he's doing now.
< Se-lax > Probably the same thing he's doing now. Taking it out on some poor excuse of a warrior for forgetting to inform our division where to go.
< Elijah > ~gulps *I guess that would be me*~ Yeah I guess he probably would be.
< Cougar > We'll get there. ~saying to Se-lax~
< Se-lax > And just how many of us will be standing at the end of the day?
< Cougar > ~to Elijah~ He's our pessimist of the group.
< Elijah > ~shrugs and then says to coug.~ Every group has one.
< Se-lax > Just as each has their overly optimistic person.
< Cougar > Se-lax, you best be glad I don't run a tight ship.
< Elijah > ~nods in agreement~
< Se-lax > ~smiles vaguely~
< Cougar > ~again to Elijah~ He's a prototype Scalene lizard warrior.. Darrin hopes to create more of them.
< Elijah > Interesting.... I know a few but not many....there somewhat like him.
< Cougar > The final project doesn't always tend to be the same as the prototype. Provided that the prototype even gets anywhere.
< Elijah > ~nods but doesn't say anything~
< Lehaf > ~slows down, looking back at Coug~ Um.. Cougar.. I think I know where they are. ~he points to the distance, toward the right. A large black cloud is seen milling in the distance~
< Cougar > Lehaf don't worry. Its not your fault.
< Elijah > ~looks at her~ What?
< Cougar > ~she turns to him~ He is our navigator.
< Lehaf > Yes well...
< Cougar > You ended up finding where they are in the end. I'll put that in.
< Lehaf >....thank you.. ~they veer to the right slightly, heading toward it~
< Elijah > ~says nothing, just follows~
< Cougar > ~she sways slightly suddenly, her eyes unfocusing. Her balance on the horse is still good~
< Elijah > Are you ok, Irene? ~he asks quietly~
< Se-lax > She is fine. We must be receiving our orders... or reprimand from the master. ~no one else seems to be hearing him talk but Elijah~ And why did you call her Irene?
< Elijah > I called her Irene? I don't know I guess she just reminds me of someone back home. ~looks away~
< Se-lax > ~looks at him skeptically~ Its not often that we meet an outsider that knows her human name.
< Elijah > ~shrugs~ It's her name????? ~tries to sound surprised~
< Se-lax > ~Se-lax doesn't answer him~
< Cougar > ~snaps out of it, putting her hand to her head as if to soothe a headache~
< Elijah > ~watches her carefully~
< Se-lax > What did he say?
< Cougar > As we thought he wished to know what took us so long. That and he said we shall see a battle soon.
< Se-lax > Good, it’s been too quiet lately.
< Elijah > ~has a questionable look on his face. *a battle???? What battle?? I really don't want to see another one of these?!?!?!?!*~
< Cougar > Well it won't be for long. The light army is here.
< Rho > Did I hear correctly? They actually came here?
< Lehaf > Never stopped them before. ~he smirks~ They never give up.
< Cougar > They've seemed to have rallied a few more. But they are stretching their resources, we should have no trouble.
< Se-lax > And with the commander's new idea for a weapon, they will fall before the empire.
< Elijah > *weapon?*
< Lehaf > Let's hope it works. I don't care to experience it myself.
< Cougar > We've gone over it to make sure it will work correctly.
< Rho > Good. Mixing magics is never that safe to begin with.
< Se-lax > That is what makes this a very useful weapon on our part.
< Cougar > ~she smiles~ They'll never see it coming.
< Elijah > *Dear Lord, I hope they do. But something tells me they won't*
< Lehaf > And it'll be good riddance. Perhaps we'll get chances for a break now and again.
< Rho > You actually believe that Darrin would let his lead division off for a break?
< Elijah > *I doubt it*
< Lehaf > Its the thought that keeps me going.
< Se-lax > you never know.
< Cougar > Very true, especially coming from you Se-lax.
< Elijah > *Again I say I doubt it. Darrin does not sleep because DS does not sleep*
< Se-lax > How quickly you all forget that one time a few planets ago.
< Rho > That hardly counted as a break.
< Se-lax > Be happy it occurred. It makes little difference to me.
< Lehaf > That's because you were made for this kind of thing. We weren't
< Se-lax > You were all trained for it... ~he cuts himself off looking toward Coug~
< Cougar > Forgiven, but training is training regardless of where or whom it comes from.
< Elijah > ~he watches intensely, wondering what will happen next. He listens, quietly~
< Cougar > ~they go silent, the sounds of camp are beginning to be heard~
< Elijah > *I wonder what is going to happen next. I mean, I must be here to witness something. I can't be here to just follow Irene around.* ~His thoughts continue to spin~ *What is this for? Why am I here? Who sent me? Man, I'm so confused.* ~he battles questions like this for sometime~
< Cougar > ~to Elijah~ First time to an army camp?
< Elijah > No... actually... I been to one other before.
< Rho > Permission to move ahead?
< Cougar > Granted.
< Rho > ~Rho darts forward rapidly, quickly disappearing from their view~
< Elijah > *Dear Lord, don't let her ask which one.*
< Cougar > ~she turns back to him~ Oh, which one?
< Elijah > Oh, just this one, back home.... ~stretching the truth slightly~ *geesh, it's almost like she was reading my mind*
< Se-lax > The armies survive that long?
< Elijah > A few.
< Cougar > ~Coug pulls her horse to a stop as do the others, just outside of the camp~ We must wait for approval to enter.
< Elijah > ~nods~ *From who? Darrin?*
< Rho > ~Rho, followed by two cathern approach them~
< Elijah > ~looks slightly startled by the cathern~
< Cathern > ~the cathern split, one going down the left side of the group the other the right. One stops by Elijah. Its nearly the same size as his horse~ And who are you?
< Elijah > I'm Elijah. I was picked up by the others, because I had no idea were I was. ~sounds very nervous~
< Cathern > ~it hums slightly, then looks to Coug~ You sssssaid nothing of a guesssst.
< Cougar > I was going to see him about it.
< Cathern > Make sssurrre you do. ~it moves on~
< Elijah > ~breaths a sigh of relief~ *Thank you.*
< Rho > ~Rho is standing in front of them. Her hood is pushed back now. She smiles at him, her fangs visible now~ Cathern are quite picky.
< Cougar > A slight understatement. ~she watches the cathern check out her division~
< Elijah > ~just smiles slightly and nods nervously~
< Se-lax > ~Se-lax has moved up abreast Coug and Elijah, nearer to Elijah~ Perhaps as fair warning, the rest of the army doesn't take to humans very well.
< Elijah > ~tries not to show emotion~ Thanks for the warning.
< Cougar > Perhaps, but ~she looks at him~ Your not entirely human from what I can tell.
< Elijah > ~surprised, but then realizes that duh this is Irene~ No, I'm not.
< Se-lax > ~smirks~ So they'll debate whether to get you to join or to eat you.
< Elijah > ~he's eyes slightly bulge.~ Hopefully it won't be the eat part.
< Rho > ~laughs~ Its not that bad. All the older warriors give you a hard time.
< Se-lax > They only tried to eat you once or twice right Rho?
< Cougar > You're thinking of the Cathern Se-lax. They'll eat anyone if they ever get the chance.
< Elijah > That sounds like a Cathern.
< Se-lax > I don't know if I should be comforted in the thought that they last that long or not.
< Cathern > ~the cathern come back up~ You're clear. But remember Captain, he awaits.
< Elijah > ~watches the cathern carefully~
< Cathern > ~they move off silently~
< Rho > ~watching them~ They will always give me the creeps.
< Cougar > Agreed... but at least they are tamer than they were.
< Se-lax > hmm, true. Ruthless creatures.
< Cougar > Effective none-the-less.
< Lehaf > They'll replace us one day.
< Se-lax > I highly doubt that.
< Elijah > Me, too. ~he accidentally says out loud~
< Cougar > You too what?
< Elijah > ~looks at her~ What?
< Cougar > You said "me too"
< Elijah > oh, I said that out loud, oops. I was talking about the cathern
< Cougar > ~she nods slightly, then moves the horses on. Rho and Lehaf move off from them as the rest of the group heads to the stables. Se-lax stays by Elijah. They approach a large corral with several horses. They begin dismounting and stable hands come rushing out to take their mounts~
< Elijah > ~Elijah also gets down, not sure what to do~
< Cougar > ~Coug turns to Se-lax and Elijah~ Keep an eye on him. I've got a meeting. ~she heads off into camp~
< Se-lax > Looks like we'll be getting to know each other a bit. ~he smirks~
< Elijah > *Irene don't leave me!* ~smiles slightly~ Yeah.
< Se-lax > Anything you wish to know or see?
< Elijah > I have no clue of the people of this time, so I don't know what I would want to see or do.
< Se-lax > You're probably better off not knowing about us. But if you have any questions speak up.
< Elijah > ok, I will. *no I won't*
< Taurian > ~a taurian walks past them, pausing to nod at Se-lax. He is a panther-taur.~ Good day Se-lak. ~apparently he has a difficulty with pronouncing Se-lax’s name~
< Se-lax > ~nods to him~ And you Rem.
< Rem > ~then moves on at a lope~
< Elijah > *or I will* What was that?
< Se-lax > A Taurian. You humans would associate them with the mythological Centaur. Taurians, however, are not just horse. Rem is a panther-taur.
< Elijah > Ah... interesting. Never seen one of those before.
< Se-lax > You will most likely meet an array of creatures you've never seen before. Darrin's empire stretches far.
< Elijah > From what I understand it does, though that's all I really know.
< Se-lax > ~Se-lax, looks up and is silent briefly~
< Elijah > ~looks around uncomfortably about the silence~
< Se-lax > ~then looks back at Elijah~ Looks like you get the chance to meet the general.
< Elijah > Why? *What if I don't want to meat the commander, especially since I've already meant the commander.*
< Se-lax > He wishes to see who you are.
< Elijah > Oh...
< Se-lax > Follow me. ~he starts walking~
< Taurian > ~a smaller Taurian, walking in the same direction that they are, joins up with them. He appears to be younger than Rem, and is a coon-taur~ Who do we have here?
< Se-lax > Coln, this is Elijah. Coln here is new as of just recently.
< Coln > A week. ~smiles slightly~
< Elijah > ~nods~ Nice to meet you.
< Coln > ~bobs his head~ And you. You new too?
< Coln > hmmm..
< Se-lax > You are heading toward the central camp? ~to Coln~
< Elijah > *A raccoon interesting*
< Coln > That I am. ~he looks to Elijah~ You have an audience already?
< Elijah > Why?
< Coln > Just surprised that's all..
< Se-lax > Would you take Elijah there?
< Coln > No trouble. ~figuring it out~
< Se-lax > I'll meet up with you after your meeting Elijah. ~he then moves away from them~
< Elijah > Hey, where am I suppose to go?
< Coln > I'm to take you. ~he waits until Se-lax is out of ear shot~ Se-lak is a bit uncomfortable about entering central camp.
< Elijah > oh, ok. I guess that’s cool. So what made you come here? ~trying to change the subject so he doesn't have to think about Darrin~
< Coln > My older brother and sister are here. Dad served for a bit, so I suppose its in the family. That and they wanted me here. Truthfully, I'd rather be back home.
< Elijah > ~looks at him curiously~ If you don't want to be here then maybe you should leave. ... though that could cost you your life.
< Coln > Exactly. ~they approach the tent. Coug is standing outside waiting for them.~
< Cougar > ~she looks curiously at Coln~
< Coln > ~bows to her~ Se-lak asked me to bring Elijah here.
< Coln > Coln, I'm new.
< Cougar > Alright.. thank you Coln.
< Elijah > Thanks. It was nice talking to you. ~doesn't say it every enthusiastically~
< Coln > I'll see you around then. ~he moves off~
< Elijah > ~watches him leave~
< Cougar > ~turning to Elijah~ I can tell you're not thrilled about this idea.
< Elijah > I've only heard stories of Darrin. I can't tell you that they were all the greatest.
< Cougar > Then they are probably true. Come, his time for us is short. ~she begins to walk to the doorway~
< Elijah > ~he follows her hesitatingly~
< Darrin > ~Darrin is standing behind a table, something like a map spread out in front of him. To Elijah, he looks as if he hasn't changed at all. Darrin looks up at them as they enter.~
< Cougar > ~Elijah can start to sense Coug's nervousness as well.~
< Elijah > *She's nervous. Almost as nervous as I am. I didn't know she could be afraid of anybody*
< Darrin > So this is our guest. ~he moves out from the table and toward them to get a look at Elijah~
< Elijah > ~watches him with big, round, brown eyes.~
< Darrin > What were you doing wandering about the forest? ~not really a question. Most of his questions are nearly commands~
< Elijah > ~recognizing the style of Darrin's he says confidently~ I just found myself there. See sir, I'm not from around here. I'm from another place.... and time.
< Darrin > ~he looks interested, turning to Coug slightly~ Perhaps it is good that you brought him with you.
< Cougar > ~she lowers her head, but says nothing. Apparently she had been reprimanded earlier for it~
< Elijah > ~doesn't say anything, just watches~ *This man is crazy. Why would he need me?*
< Darrin > A different time.. ~seems to be thinking it over~ Which time would that be?
< Elijah > Several years in the future. *Why does any of this stuff matter?*
< Darrin > How well do you know your history?
< Elijah > Not very well, If you are talking about what happens to you. ~lies slightly~ *so this is what this is about. He wants me to tell him what happens to him so he can change it. He is clever, too clever I think*
< Darrin > ~he looks at him, then turns to Cougar~ Keep an eye on him. ~he turns back and walks toward his table~
< Cougar > Yes sir..
< Darrin> See that you carry this out Cougar. Prepare for tomorrow, we move. Now get out.
< Cougar > ~bows, then motions for Elijah to go ahead of her quickly~
< Elijah > ~he quickly steps out of the room.~
< Cougar > ~she follows behind him~
< Elijah > *Glad that over*
< Cougar > ~she leads him further from the tent. He can still sense her anxiety, and a bit of Darrin's power residue is about her.~
< Elijah > *Strange I’ve never seen her like this* Are you ok? ~he asks worried~
< Cougar > ~she looks at him a bit startled~ Yes.. I'm fine.
< Elijah > oh, ok.... *liar* ~knowing that she won't tell, leaves it at that~
< Cougar > ~they pass by several tents, many of the occupants are out and about, milling amongst themselves~
< Elijah > *something not right, she's not like her normal self. Something is just not there. It's as if something has taken over her. Like it's not even Irene walking next to me*
< Cougar > ~they move toward another group of tents, all empty. She stops next to one. It has a few logs in front, apparently serving as chairs. She motions for him to sit~ This is where we'll be staying the night before we meet up with the light army tomorrow.
< Elijah > *It's almost like she a drone. Lifeless, at his control. Darrin that’s it! He's got to be controlling her!* Oh ok. What will happen with he light army tomorrow?
< Cougar > ~she looks at him oddly as if he should know the answer to that~ We get rid of them. ~there's a bit of fire in her tone~
< Elijah > *Not Irene, this is not my Aunt* ~he starts to feel slightly angry~ Oh, ok. ~walks into the tent~
< Cougar > ~sits down on one of the logs, says nothing but watching Elijah as he enters~
< Elijah > ~steps back out~ Aren’t you coming in?
< Cougar > I prefer it out here. ~she seemed to have picked up on his anger earlier, her tone has a slight suspicion to it~
< Elijah > ~he steps over and sits next to her~ What's so different about here than in there?
< Cougar > I prefer outside over in... I only use that tent when it rains.
< Elijah > oh. You know you are a lot different during this time, then in the future.
< Cougar > ~she looks at him curiously~ Oh? I suppose one does change over a large period of time.
< Elijah > Thing is you weren't like this in the past either. Infact you were a lot like what you were when in my time. What happened?
< Cougar > Complications. I was blind to it till recently after I was awakened.
< Elijah > Do you know what opened your eyes?
< Cougar > Darrin showed me, through my memories. Subtle signs that I had missed before.
< Elijah > oh *interesting*
< Cougar > Things that had once made no sense, now do... Why do you ask?
< Elijah > Just curious.... *because it involves Darrin*
< Cougar > ~looks up at the sky, not saying anything~
< Elijah > ~Looks at the other tents. None of the tents in their immediate area have are occupied at the moment. But he can see the next set of tents that are a bit away from them. Several people seemed to be gathered around in a circle, apparently chatting. The species are very diverse, from Shikon to Taurian. He turns back to her~ How does Darrin get all his creatures to work for him, there are so many different species?
< Cougar > Vast majority are volunteers. Some are from allied armies, most are from within the empire itself. You fight in the army you reserve protection for you and your kin.
< Elijah > Ah... interesting....
< Cougar > We are very careful with whom joins our ranks. Can't have any spies sneak through.
< Elijah > Yeah.... that would be bad.
< Cougar > Had a few incidents, but they were taken care of before they had the chance to report back. Though most of the discipline is held within each of the divisions by the captain, the serious offenders have to go to the commander... and no one wants that.
< Elijah > Yes I don't think I would want that either
< Cougar > ~she nods slightly, looking back down away from the sky, viewing the camp~ Many of us are hoping this will be a temporary army. As soon as we take out the last of the resistance the bulk of the army will not be needed anymore.
< Elijah > Why would you not want an army? I mean for defense reason.
< Cougar > Oh, we would have one still. But it would be more on a call-as-needed basis. The rest of the Light Army is all that stands between us. The defeat of them would play a big role for us.
< Elijah > How strong are they, do you think they are an easy win?
< Cougar > I wouldn't say "easy," they have stood against us for a long time and are still around.. though they are weakening and it’s only a matter of time.
< Elijah > *For you* ~looks around at the camp, but doesn't say anything~
< Cougar > ~looks at him~ For a neutral you sure do seem worried about this.
< Elijah > ~looks at her~ Worried, why would I be worried? *Just because I never expected my aunt to be like this. That could make a guy nervous*
< Cougar > I don't know, was hoping for you to supply that answer. ~her tone is flat~
< Elijah > Well I'm not. ~they suddenly hear shouting from several tents down. The shouts are highly agitated as if it is a fight or argument. Elijah jumps up quickly looking to see where it is coming from~
< Cougar > ~gets up, and heads in that direction. She doesn't rush, but is moving quickly~
< Elijah > ~Elijah follows walking though, doesn't want to get in the middle of anything~ *what is going on now?*
< Cougar > ~As they approach, Elijah sees Coln, his fur bristled and holding his staff facing off with a very angry Seeray who is brandishing his sword and shouting at him in a tongue that Elijah cannot understand. Coln appears confused, as if he doesn't know what is being said either~
< Elijah > ~Watches carefully but doesn't say anything~
< Cougar > ~she speaks loudly and with authority~ Stalna! ~the Seeray backs up a bit and both look at them, the Seeray sneers and again says something in his tongue~
< Cougar > Keep to the common tongue Kemre. ~she scolds harshly~ Now this had better be good, what happened?
< Elijah > *I've never seen her get this mean. I mean she's strict just never angry* ~watching Irene now~
< Coln > I don't know.. I was just standing here next to my tent when..
< Kemre > My tent you mean newling.
< Coln > My Captain told me this is where I was to stay. ~he continues to direct this to Coug~
< Kemre > Perhaps you should check your assignments more clearly. This is my section, as has it always been.
< Cougar > And where is your captain?
< Kemre > Who knows with him.
< Elijah > *oh, boy that should go over well*
< Cougar > I'll deal with him later, now. Is there any extra tents here?
< Coln > No, I don't believe so...
< Kemre > They miscounted in our ranks. They were to quarter this newling here with another division until further notice.
< Coln > That was not what I was told..
< Kemre > That is what I heard.
< Cougar > Enough. We need no blood shed between ranks. Save it for tomorrow. ~she turns to Coln~ For now there is a tent in my division that is open, you may take that.
< Kemre > ~looks at Coln as Coln appeared that he was going to object~ I'd take it newling, objections only lead you one place around here and you won't like it. ~he smiles ruthlessly~
< Elijah > *actually both of you will go places that you won't like.... nonexistence*
< Cougar > And you, ~turning to Kemre~ No more causing trouble. This includes torturing the new recruits.
< Kemre > ~putting his sword away~ Yes Captain.
< Cougar > Let me know when your captain returns. ~she turns to go back~
< Coln > ~Coln has already walked off toward the tent he was directed to~
< Elijah > *Yes, mama*
< Kemre > ~Elijah picks up something that Kemre muttered that Irene apparently missed or didn't understand for it is again in his native tongue, but Elijah understands it~ seniority apparently makes no difference here, young Morph, be careful with what you do around here.
< Elijah > *No but she could kick your but any day.* ~grins~
< Cougar > ~Cougar walks back to her tent~
< Elijah > ~Elijah follows after her~
< Cougar > ~returns to her position on the log~
< Elijah > ~he sits down next to her. Doesn't say anything~
< Cougar > ~seems to be talking to herself~ Often wonder sometimes why I do this...
< Elijah > ~looks at her~ Why do you do this?
< Cougar > I just follow orders... ~is still looking forward and down~
< Elijah > ok, whatever you think is best
< Cougar > ~looks at him sideways~ You certainly have an interesting perspective on things.
< Elijah > What do you mean by that?
< Cougar > The way you respond. Its as if you have no opinion or rather don't express it.
< Elijah > I don't you said it before, I'm neutral.
< Cougar > A neutral person doesn't mean that they have no opinions on anything. Besides, there truly isn't a real neutral person.
< Elijah > You are right, but I've learned when to stay neutral and when not to be neutral, what side is best for me and what options that can be used.
< Cougar > Interesting take on it. From your description I'd say that neutral persons are only out for themselves. Use which ever side they wish for their purposes when they so choose.
< Elijah > I guess if you put it that way, I guess you are right, but aren’t all sides out for themselves doing what they think is best for them?
< Cougar > Perhaps it is those who are the extremes. But then, who knows. Its open to interpretation.
< Elijah > Everyone has their opinion on that...
< Cougar > And its those who are strongly opinionated that gain support.
< Elijah > Or who are good at convincing that they are.
< Cougar > I'd say that the commander is certainly opinionated. If not, we wouldn't be here fighting for him.
< Elijah > Opinionated yes, but I think he has more of a way of convincing then anything....
< Cougar > ~looks up at him~ Oh?
< Elijah > He seems to have a power over all those that follow him. I mean they would do anything for him, but yet they have no idea why.... it's interesting.... ~shrugs~ if you think about it.
< Cougar > We follow him because we agree with him. ~says strongly~
< Elijah > ok, whatever... I just stating what I've seen so far, I could be wrong. I didn't say I was right.
< Cougar > If you are attempting to convince anyone of what you believe, immediately refuting your own argument is not the way to go.
< Elijah > Trust me I wasn't trying to convince anybody, just telling you what I felt, and see. I'm neutral why would I want to convince anybody of anything?
< Cougar > Because I don't entirely believe you when you say that you are neutral.
< Elijah > ~shrugs again~ I guess then that is your problem.
< Cougar > I don't see how you "neutral" beings manage to stay around for so long. ~flat tone, a bit of frustration~
< Elijah > Really? And what is that suppose to mean?
< Cougar > You know what I mean.
< Elijah > No, you are mistaken I don't. ~stares at her~ *Wow, I think I might have her thinking*
< Cougar > If you're all this way, I wouldn't be surprised if anyone would wish to admit they were neutral in the near future ~says almost darkly~
< Elijah > You never know ~raises his eyebrow~
< Cougar > If I were you I'd be careful what you say to whom.
< Elijah > Well, I only would talk to a few people that I know. And I guess since you are the only familiar face around, I guess I felt ok talking to you.
< Cougar > Its a good practice in ways. But not so much around here.
< Elijah > So are you saying I'm unwanted here? ~sounds slightly annoyed and hurt at the same time~
< Cougar > No, that is not quite what I am saying.
< Elijah > Then what exactly are you saying? ~he voice rises~
< Cougar > I'm saying exactly what I meant. ~he can sense her underlying anger~
< Elijah > And that would be?
< Cougar > To be careful with what and to whom you say things. ~she stands up~
< Elijah > Oh, I know... but you see I trust you. ~looks her in the eyes, after standing also~
< Cougar > ~says nothing for a moment, a bit off balanced by what he said~ I have things I need to attend to ~says fairly quickly and its noticeable that she's upset. ~turns to leave~
< Elijah > ok, well I guess I'll be around. ~looks around~ where I don' t know though, but I will be around if you want to talk again.
< Cougar > ~heads off. There is other movement within camp as well. Apparently a meeting of some sorts, but only a few are headed in the same direction~
< Elijah > ~Elijah sits back down on the bench, looks in the direction that Irene went. Not sure what to do now~ *hmmm......... I wonder, what she's thinking now.... I hope.... well I hope I haven't changed her destiny. I hope..... I hope she sees my point. Anyways, I wonder what she's going to do now? Hopefully she won't go and tell Darrin what I've just said. * ~fear crosses his face~ *I wonder why I'm here?*
< Elijah > ~he hears movement behind him, seems about a tent or two away. He stands up, awakened from his thoughts. He looks in that direction~
< Coln > ~Coln seems to be straightening up his new tent site. His tail is still a bit frizzed from earlier. Muttering something quietly~
< Elijah > ~Elijah walks over to him~ Need any help?
< Coln > ~looks over at him~ oh, hello.. No, I've got it.. nearly done.
< Elijah > k...... ~not sure what to say~ *hmmm... wonder what his whole story is*
< Coln > ~seems to notice the movement toward the central camp, which was the direction that Irene had went~ Appears the superiors are going to their meeting... I hope that little incident isn't mentioned....
< Elijah > I'm sure it's far from their minds... ~tries to sound convincing~
< Coln > I hope so... but that bit about my captain won't be... Wish there was a way to just switch divisions.. but then who would I go to? All of them are equally rough...
< Elijah > Cougar is a pretty good captain....
< Cougar > Yes I know... but her division is the best group of all of them... There's no way I'd get into it, even if I wanted to.
< Elijah > ~shrugs~ Who knows, it never hurts to try.
< Coln > I don't want to try, that's the thing. Everyone knows that she's practically Darrin's right hand.
< Elijah > ~shrugs~ Why don't you just leave if you don't want to be here?
< Coln > One can't leave whenever they want. That's basically asking for it. Besides, the army here has some of the best teachers around.
< Elijah > True... I guess I know how you feel on that one....
< Coln > ~looks at him curiously~ You do?
< Elijah > Yeah, I do.
< Coln > ~looks away slightly~ .... are you apprenticing the battle tomorrow? ~changing the topic~
< Elijah > no... hopefully I'll be gone by then.
< Coln > ~again looks at him, slightly confused, but says nothing. Shifts slightly on his paws, placing more weight on his hind paws, moving into a sitting position. Is about the same height as Elijah when sitting~
< Elijah > ~watches him carefully~ * I wonder what he's thinking about right now?*
< Coln > Will this be your first battle? ~seems uncomfortable with silence~
< Elijah > No... I guess you could say, I've seen one before this ~his memory goes back, he cringes at the thought~
< Coln > Must have been bad...
< Elijah > That would be an understatement.
< Coln > I haven't personally been in any either... but I've seen this army fight.
< Elijah > Do you think they'll win ~he asks curiously~
< Coln > Of course we will. We have two of the finest swordsmen and leaders in the universe. And the Light army has gotten considerably smaller when we last saw them.
< Elijah > interesting..... *something tells me that something bad is going to happen* ~he looks slightly nervous~
< Coln > What do you think?
< Elijah > Don't know haven't seen either fight before.
< Coln > Then what type of battle have you seen? Or was it only a minor? These two armies have been fighting since the day when our commander took the sword from the Earth army of Light.
< Elijah > ~thinks for a moment *should I tell him*~ Well now that you mention. I say the very battle that happened after the sword was taken. Infact I was there as he rode of with it.
< Coln > ~looks at him surprised~ You were there?
< Elijah > Yeah, I was there....
< Coln > Sorry, its just that it was such a historical battle.. to be there... we hear so much about it.
< Elijah > It wasn't exactly the greatest thinking to be watching. ~he frowns~
< Coln > Not much of a fighter I take it... course... one does get used to it after awhile.
< Elijah > I don't think I was sent there to fight.
< Coln > Sent there?
< Elijah > yeah, see I'm not from this time or that one for that matter.... I from the way distant future.
< Coln > ~doesn't seem to know what to say to that~ ....interesting.... ~pauses a bit~
< Elijah > I've heard several people say that about me.... of course I'm just as confused about the whole situation as you are.
< Coln > If you were sent to that major battle... perhaps tomorrow is to be a big one as well..
< Elijah > Maybe..... who knows? I guess we'll find out tomorrow
< Coln > ~nods~ Well.. there's a couple of things I need to get done before sundown. I'll see you later. ~he rises up to a standing position~
< Elijah > Yeah, see ya. ~waves as he leaves. He returns to the bench by Irene's tent, he sits down with a sigh~
< Cougar > ~several hours pass. The sun is barely shedding light. The superiors are leaving the meeting. Elijah hears two voices approaching. Se-lax and Irene~
< Elijah > ~he looks up from where is sitting, just watching~
< Cougar > ~to Se-lax, but Elijah can now hear~ When did you decide to sit this one out?
< Se-lax > Someone needs to watch our friend. And Darrin needs a runner besides.
< Elijah > *Nobody nees to watch me, why would anybody need to watch me. I'm not going to do anything!* ~he listens more carefully~
< Cougar > Yes I suppose that would be best.
< Elijah > *My own aunt against me!*
< Se-lax > Besides your division will do fine without me. And with the weapon we'll have no troubles at all.
< Cougar > ~smiles~ Leaving nothing that stands for the Light.
< Elijah > *that's what you think.*
< Cougar > ~as they reach the tent, Se-lax heads toward his own tent. To Elijah~ It will be a long day tomorrow, it would be best to get rest now. We pack up at sunrise.
< Elijah > ~looks up at her~ Sure... what ever. ~stands up~
< Cougar > You may take the tent, I prefer out here.
< Elijah > ok. ~not saying anything more, sounds kind of angry. He goes into the tent, and lies down. He rolls over onto his side. He's facing the wall~ *Why would they not trust me?!?!?! Why doesn't she believe that I am neutral.... well because I'm not! But still she's my aunt! But she doesn't know that. But what reason do they have of questioning what side I’m on... because I’m new and I was found hiding... no proof to back my story. But it's the truth.... well except the neutral part...* ~he punches at the air, and then eventually falls into a restless sleep.~
< Cougar > ~Morning: a loud bugle call is heard as well as rustling as everyone prepares breakfast and prepares to depart~
< Elijah > ~Elijah is startled by the bugle sound and he sits up quickly~ What the heck?
< Cougar > ~Irene cannot hear him. Is several feet from the tent giving last minute instructions to her division as they pass by~
< Elijah > ~the sound of one particular conversation passes his ear~
< Voice > So I hear that the Light army has gotten bigger? Is this true?
< Cougar > Yes. They have rounded up a much larger army than expected, but its no need to worry. We had word of it before hand to plan.
< Elijah > *Not enough time, for you to really understand how large they really are.*
< Voice > Good. Much easier when they are all in one place then. ~laughs, then moves on~
< Cougar > ~has neared the tent, and to Elijah~ Elijah, best get up if you wish to eat.
< Elijah > ok ~he tries to sound tired, yawns. He puts on his boots, and walks out the tent, not even looking at Irene, and heads for the mess hall~
< Cougar > Where you going?
< Elijah > ~turns and looks towards her~ Going to go get something to eat.
< Cougar > Unless you're planning on begging from other divisions we eat here. Coln brought over some of his teerif for you. ~she motions to the bundle laying on the log.~
< Elijah > oh ok. Thanks. ~he sets down on the bench, and picks up at the bundle and looks at it~ What is it?
< Cougar > Teerif, native Taurian food. They are almost like biscuits on Earth. Sweet tasting. ~has moved to the tent, to begin packing things up~
< Elijah > oh ok. ~he unwraps the cloth that is around it, and starts eating the things in side. To his surprise it was very good.~
< Cougar > ~shortly has it all packed, and placed in a pile including the tent. She stands back up, looking over the highly active camp~
< Elijah > ~Elijah finishes the last of his food and watches Irene carefully~
< Cougar > ~even though she doesn't appear to be nervous, he can sense a bit of nerves and uneasiness from her~
< Elijah > *Why is she so nervous? She seemed so confident that they would win. Maybe she is questioning her actions.....*
< Se-lax > ~Se-lax approaches~ You ready Cougar?
< Cougar > ~looks up at him~ As I'll ever be. We about packed? The wagon should be coming soon.
< Se-lax > Just about. We'll be ready. Already sent for the horses.
< Cougar > Good. ~she nods and looks over at her division's section~
< Elijah > ~still watching her carefully~ *I really don't know what is going through her mind... but I truly would like to know what that is... I'm sure it's not what is going on around her*
< Cougar > ~they hear something large approaching. Looking toward that direction, then back over at the section, saying loudly~ Alright everyone, the wagon's here, get your stuff ready to move. The wagon stops, and the others line up, starting a chain to move the items onto the wagon. Soon everything is loaded, and the wagon moves on~
< Se-lax > I'll take them over to the center.
< Cougar > ~nods~ I'll wait for the horses.
< Se-lax > ~rounds up the division and they head off, leaving Elijah and Irene~
< Elijah > *interesting... I'm sure that was pure accident. I wonder how long it will take before she confronts me and tells me to stay out of the way or die?*
< Cougar > ~turns to him~ You will be staying under the protection of Se-lax with the General, out of the way.
< Elijah > Well, it's nice to know that I'm trusted, but thank you for letting me know, before he kills me. ~he sounds slightly annoyed~
< Cougar > ~looks at him confused~ Who said anything about having you killed?
< Elijah > No one, but I'm sure there was some thought put into it.
< Cougar > Sorry to disappoint you ~she also sounds annoyed~ Perhaps we can arrange something later on. But you are going to be kept alive by Se-lax during the battle.
< Elijah > Well that is good to know also. Thank you and when you do decide to kill me, even though you don’t have a reason, please let me have a few last words.... ~he gets up and walks away~
< Cougar > And where do you think you are going? ~says with the same tone she uses with her division~
< Elijah > I don't know, away from you! ~continues walking~ *The nerve!* ~quickens his pace~
< Cougar > ~she follows after him quickly, stepping in front of him~
< Elijah > ~stops and turns towards the other direction~
< Cougar > Listen, I don't know what you are thinking, or where you even get these ideas. But you can't go walking off.
< Elijah > Why? I'm not leaving the grounds, and you have someone watching me so there isn't anything to worry about. I'm not going to do anything to your guys little plan. You don't have to worry about me, I'll be fine.
< Cougar > Watching you is not the right terms. Let me put it this way. Se-lax is your guardian.
< Elijah > Sure, ok, put in what ever terms you would like, it all means the same thing....
< Cougar > Alright then, if you think you can fend for yourself against the Light warriors I'll tell Se-lax to back off.
< Elijah > Sure whatever, I’m hoping to leave this place soon anyways.... ~stops and looks at her, looks slightly worried~
< Cougar > Time traveler or not, you could easily get killed here as back in your own time.
< Elijah > No kidding, death is a part of life, though I would like to live a little longer in my own time! ~he says as if yelling at the sky as if hoping it would suck him up into it~
< Cougar > Perhaps you are meant to see this battle through, then it will take you back. ~her voice has eased off, as if she gave up arguing. She moves away from him, and heads back to where the camp was to wait for the horses~
< Elijah > ~says under his breath~ Maybe that is what I am afraid of... I've seen one to many battles like this.... ~he says just standing there letting the silence surround him~
< Cougar > ~soon, several horses are brought over, shortly followed by her division~
< Elijah > ~watches with not thought at all, just fear of what will happen next~
< Se-lax > ~walks up behind him~ You coming?
< Elijah > ~looks at him~ Where are we going?
< Se-lax > We're heading out. There's an open area up ahead where we shall meet up with the light army
< Elijah > ~shrugs~ *I guess I have no other choice.* Ok. ~he tries to say cheerfully but fails~
< Cougar > ~moves forward, motioning him to follow. Horses are waiting for the both of them~
< Elijah > ~follows him, walking over to one of the horses~
< Cougar > ~climbs on~
< Elijah > ~also climbs on~
< Cougar > ~the two horses move up as the whole group moves out. They ride slightly behind Irene. Shortly after, Darrin rides his horse up the side of the army, taking a position in the lead with Irene. They approach a large clearing, there is a hill immediately to their right that overlooks it.~
< Se-lax > This is where we break off. ~to Elijah~
< Elijah > ~looks at him surprised~ And where am I suppose to go?
< Se-lax > We go and watch from that hill.
< Cougar > ~the army has halted and dismounting. The horses are being lead away, except those who ride cavalry~
< Elijah > ok.... ~watches the army as they travel.~
< Se-lax > ~Se-lax begins to walk toward the hill.~
< Elijah > ~Elijah follows~
< Cougar > ~the army is gathering closer together, making it hard for him to figure out where Irene or Darrin is~
< Elijah > *once again I get to watch*
< Cougar > ~ahead of the hill in the distance a trumpet sounds~
< Se-lax > They are arriving.
< Elijah > ~looks at him and then follows his gaze seeing them~
< Cougar > ~without much warning, both sides break out onto the field toward the other, shortly after, Darrin walks up to the hill, and stands at its edge, not acknowledging either Elijah nor Se-lax~
< Cougar > ~it begins, however, unlike last time. Elijah sees it as a whole rather than a specific section~
< Elijah > ~Elijah doesn't notice that Darrin is there, his gaze is the massive battle that is taking place. His eyes seemed to held on it~ * and the pain begins*
< Cougar > ~the light army's size is about equal to that of the dark. As they fight, neither side seems to be gaining any upper hand~
< Elijah > *oh, boy I can see this is going to be one bloody battle* ~he watches unable to move his head, he seems to able to the see the whole picture in front of him, though the battle stretches for miles.~
< Cougar > ~he seems to be able to hear one particular fighters' conversation on the wind, yet no one on the hill seems to notice.~
< Elijah > ~he listens hard to hear what is being said~
< Male voice > You of all people...
< Female > Anything can happen... People do change, Trion.
< Elijah > *Who is this? This voice sounds familiar....* ~he listens even harder, without even thinking about it~
< Male > How can you undermine everything you had been taught? You're fighting against your friends, your comrades. ~Elijah then hears a gasp of breath as if one had their wind knocked out of them. The male voice continues~ I see some of your training has slipped your mind.
< Elijah > ~he shudders as if he feels her pain.~ *Irene? It must be Irene, the way he's talking.*
< Female > ~her breaths are short, as she recovers~ You wouldn't do it. I know you too well Trion, you'd never be able to do it.
< Elijah > *Do what?????* ~he tries looking for Irene in the mass of people. She is impossible to see~
< Male > My dear, you must understand what you're doing. You are on the wrong side. You are meant for the side of light, your sword is the sword of light.
< Female > ~hissing~ Sometimes prophecies can go wrong. I know my place and that is here.
< Elijah > *Irene it's not though.... trust me it's not!*
< Male > He's using you. You are profitable to him, but as soon as your worth runs out he'll kill you and you know it! You've seen what he does to those people.
< Elijah > *Listen to him!!!!!!* ~he now doesn't see anything at all, he can just hear the conversation burning in his ears~
< Female > I'm not like them
< Male > ~quieter~ No, you're not like them.... ~his voice goes silent suddenly~
< Female > Perhaps. But you will never know. ~even without seeing Elijah knows that she is talking futilely to the fallen male fighter~
< Elijah > *Irene...Why?!* ~His mind screamed, he didn't understand how this could be the same aunt that he knew so well~
< Cougar > ~the battle continues, the light army seems to be very slowly gaining an upper hand~
< Se-lax > ~Se-lax seems to be tensing up as if he notices that the light army is beginning to pull a bit ahead~
< Elijah > ~he can see the battle again. Fear rises in him. His mind is still on Irene~ *Irene why can't you see that this isn't you, and were you belong?????* ~Elijah doesn't really knows whose ahead, all he can see is red, and hear the horrible screams in his head~ *MAKE THEM STOP!!!!!*
< Cougar > ~a voice cuts through his thoughts clearly~
< Darrin >
< Elijah > ~Elijah suddenly snaps out of his view and turns and sees Darrin for the first time~
< Cougar > ~shortly after, a whirl of tan fire, and Irene appears next to him~ Its time?
< Elijah > ~Elijah watches intensely~ *Time for what?*
< Darrin > ~nods to her, then begins chanting softly in preparation for a spell~
< Cougar > ~closes her eyes and her tan fire erupts around her, swirling madly~
< Se-lax > ~quietly to Elijah~ Best move back. ~he begins backing up~
< Elijah > ~he quickly backs up, not even thinking. Whispers back~ What's happening?
< Se-lax > Mixing magics is highly dangerous work.
< Darrin > ~moves his hand forward~
< Cougar > ~taking the signal, she releases her magic in a clap of thunder, and the two beams of fire collide and wrap around each other~
< Elijah > ~his eyes grow big with the light never seeing anything quite like it~ *What the…*
< Darrin > ~The ball shoots out across the field, infecting each of the light warriors with its deadly fire. Cries of pain and surprise are heard. Darrin laughs evilly~ yes..
< Elijah > *NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* ~He is unable to form words, but the cries are clear in his mind~
< Warrior > ~a cry comes from behind them all, toward the right side of the hill, opposite Elijah and Se-lax. Darrin, Irene and Se-lax all turn toward it~
< Elijah > *Now what?!?!?* ~his body turns as if somebody is moving him for him~
< Warrior > ~it is a light warrior coming at him, sword raised, but he is obviously weakened by the blow. His final cry before he dropped rings out into the air.~
< Elijah > ~Elijah has no thoughts or says nothing, he watches amazed~
< Cougar > ~He notices someone run past him into the woods, he doesn't see whom, but something tells him to follow~
< Se-lax > ~Se-lax looks back at Darrin. Seems as if he doesn't know Elijah is there next to him~
< Elijah > ~Elijah watches their glances~ *weird* ~looks for the voice~ *Follow, where?*
< Cougar > ~even though he can't identify the being, he can see where they went~
< Elijah > ~he follows slowly behind knowingly were they are going~
< Cougar > ~several moments later, he sees who he was following standing next to a tree. It is Irene, she is facing away from him. Has one hand against the tree as if she needs it to keep her balance~
< Elijah > ~he doesn't approach her, just watches~
< Cougar > ~doesn't move, seemingly staring off into nowhere~
< Elijah > *I wonder what's the matter with her* ~he can't move even though he wants too~
< Cougar > ~she looks back toward where the battle field was, she doesn't seem to notice his presence. Her eyes portray how troubled and somewhat frightened she is~
< Elijah > *Irene, oh, dear auntie.....I'm so so sorry...*
< Cougar > ~says shaking and a bit hoarse~ What have I done...
< Elijah > *only you know that dear, and a few others*
< Cougar > ~nearly slides down to the ground from exhaustion from the spell and the sheer magnitude of what happened, but catches her balance with the tree again~
< Elijah > ~wants to go over and help her, but he still can not move.~
< Cougar > ~she looks up quickly hearing sounds, then turns and runs off quickly, morphing as she goes into cougar, before disappearing from Elijah's sight. At the same time everything else fades away and Elijah finds himself outside of the earth base, his own time~
< Elijah > ~looks around startled~ What? Where... home... I’m home ~forgetting about meeting Darrin he goes inside the base and looks to see if anybody is there. To see a familiar face would be wonderful right now~
< Steph > ~Stephanie is standing in the main room looking at some of the scanners~
< Elijah > ~Elijah walks over to her, and gives her big hug~
< Steph > ~she turns in surprise, looks at her son~ what was that for????
< Elijah > I just want to say I’m sorry...
< Steph > ok....and I'm sorry also; your right you are a big boy now, and have been for a long time, so I really can't control what you do.
< Elijah > Thanks.... Have you seen Irene?
< Steph > ~thinks for a moment~ ah... not that I know of... she might be working down in the basement.... you know Irene...
< Elijah > Yeah ~he grins. He leaves the room searching for her~
< Salia > ~he comes across Salia, who has just entered the hallway from a side room~
< Elijah > ~he grins at her brightly~ Hey! How are you doing?
< Salia > ~she looks at him somewhat curiously, surprised by his cheerfulness~ Good... you seem happy?
< Elijah > Why wouldn't I be happy? It's a wonderful day!
< Salia > ~she grins~ That's good.
< Elijah > Do you know where your mother is?
< Salia > I think she's downstairs... not sure though
< Elijah > oh, ok. Well I need to go talk to her, so I'll see you later. ~he says already leaving for the downstairs~
< Salia > Bye.
< Elijah > ~he heads downstairs, yelling all the way down~ Hey, Aunt Irene are you done here? ~he reaches the bottom steps around, not seeing anything~ Irene? ~he looks around the basement~
< Cougar > ~coming from the back part of the room, cloth in hand~ Yes?
< Elijah > when he sees Irene he goes over to her, and gives her a big hug.~ I'm so glad to see you.
< Cougar > ~surprised~ Nice to see you too.... may I ask why?
< Elijah > oh, no reason... I'm just really happy to be here now and see you here... and on the right side.... and with us. ~Well at that he turns and leaves, leaving Irene in wonder~
< Cougar > ~watches him leave, not quite sure what to say about what he just said~
