Meditations
Meditation is a good way to relax. Try this, perhaps put it on tape. Sit in a comfortable position, or lie on the floor.
Let's begin by being very quiet.
Put your feet on the floor, rest your hands on your knees,
close your eyes, and pretend you are in a beautiful park.
What are some of the sounds you hear?
Listen for the sounds of the birds.
Hear the birds singing inside you.
Listen to the lovely melodies they make....
Can you hear the sounds of the bees gently buzzing
in the flowers around you....
Now imagine yourself walking over to a small stream of water.
Listen to the flow of water
as it passes over the rocks in the stream....
Now you find a tree stump by the stream and you sit down.
You see someone coming towards you...
Somehow, you know this is Jesus.
What does he look like? What colour is he?
What colour hair does he have? Is it long or short?
What is he wearing?
Is he dressed in a long white robe with sandals on his feet?
Or, is he wearing jeans and a sweatshirt with trainers?
Jesus comes up to you and greets you. What does he say?
How do you feel? Talk for a while (Pause for a miniute)
Now it is time to say good-bye to him.
You hear a voice from far away.
The voice is calling something....Iit is your name.
Listen carefully and hear someone you love calling you.
The person is telling youthat it is now time to come home.
Make your way out of the garden
and when you are ready, open your eyes.
