Why Go To Mass?

Many of us only go to mass because our parents say so, but we should remember we are not going to be an audiance, but to take part in a celebration.

In mass, we have a chance to recieve the Eucharist. This is the main part of our life as Christians. Here we recieve the body and blood of Jesus. We recieve Jesus, in the Eucharist. In doing this, we keep the third commandment "Keep holy the Sabbath." Going to church is the best way to do this. At mass, we join God in a special way, it is a time for us to be with others for prayer and friendship. Our local parish is a community. Mass is the biggest prayer of all. There is singing, prayer, thanks and forgiving. When we attend mass, we are not answering a priest, but praying to God. In mass we hear readings. From the old and new testament. We pray the our Father, the very words Jesus told us. We can be with God, giving up time for him and pray for others wether they are ill or worried etc... We can ask God to be with them or us!

JESUS WANTS US TO GO TO MASS!
