Helping Others

There may be many chancs you get to help other people, whether they are family members, friends, neighbours or people over seas, whom you dont know. Your chrch may have collections for charities such as CAFOD. Perhaps you or a youth group leader could organise a sponcered event, to raise money for a worthwile cause.

Pray for someone in need, talk to God and be sure that you're helping people in that way too!

"Surely as I say unto you inasmuch as you did to the least of my brothers you have done unto me."

Matthew 25 : Verse 45

Remember that when you help someone, you are helping God!

The folling information is from the organisation: key change, who aim to help the homeless and elderly, these are their suggestions as to how you can help them. If you are interested and would like to visit there web site plese click on the link at the end, of the page.

PROJECT HELPER

This is not a soft option. Commitment and personal involvement are never simple. But the rewards are tremendous as you see people and projects grow.We need volunteers to help with anything from polishing to playing games. Often the most important help is simply chatting to our residents. Many volunteers develop new skills and some even discover a new career.

FUNDRAISER

Fundraiser volunteers make a vital contribution by raising money in different ways. As an individual or with a group of friends you could organise a fundraising event in your area, such as a:

Swimathon - Coffee Morning - Garden Open Day - Craft Fair - Fashion Show - Art Exhibition - Concert - Theatre Evening - Fete - Street Market - Auction - Fun Run - Bring and Buy Sale - Quiz Nite

The possibilities are endless. . . the only limit is your imagination! We can help with a fundraiser pack, including sponsorship forms, ' T' shirts, and other useful items.

SPEAKERS CORNER

If your gift is communication, join our Speaker's Corner team and talk about our important work to local groups. We provide you with the basic materials, you prepare the talk that suits your style and audience.

LEAFLETEER

We need to get the message out about what we do and how people can help us. You can help by delivering leaflets (our magazine and annual fundraising leaflet) to churches, libraries and other local places. This would involve about 3 small deliveries a year.

PRAYER PARTNER

Prayer is the foundation of our work and our Prayer Partners are a crucial part of the foundation. We have seen some wonderful answers to prayer. We issue a Praise and Prayer Guide four times a year. We also arrange a Day of Praise each spring, and a Week of Prayer in late autumn.
