John Gibson

A tribute to a gentleman.

Webster's Dictionary describes a gentleman as being well bred, courteous man. I would like to add to that in saying that a man in whose presents you feel welcome  and honored is truly a gentleman. John Gibson was a gentleman in any sense of the word. He had the same smile for everyone, all the time; be it the first or the hundredth time you met him.

John was a man of great faith in God. You could hear that great faith, in his opening prayers at all the festivals. He knew God on a first term basis.

Thinking back of all the Bluegrass greats that have passed on; Bill Monroe, Randall Hilton, Fred Ellis to name a few; I got to thinking God must be planning a great Bluegrass festival of His own, and He needed a Boss Hog. He looked down and said I need you, John Gibson.

John you will be greatly missed, but you will be in our hearts forever.

We thank You Lord for having let John Gibson enter our lives here on earth.

Remembrance is a golden chain; Death tries to break it, but all in vain;

To have, to love and then to part, Is the greatest sorrow of one's heart.

The years may weed out many things, But, like you can't dry water from a spring,

The memory of you always stays in visions of those Happy Days.
