"Dagger Threw My Brain"
by Jim McCartan 11/23/03

The frighten whispers call my name
They become louder, I start to feel insane
Dark shadows, Black holes
Seeing people with no voice or no name
I panic with fear and hate to be me!
The racing thoughts of evil and kindness
Brings me to my knees
Please stop and let me be!
The thought of a dagger threw my brain
Will for ever stop the pain!
I have no plan to take such a step.
The voices that haunt me
Give me no rest!
Thank God for the peace in the back of my brain.
The strength of my Wife who walks me threw my pain
I swallow my pills, I’m me again.
