Shell Baby Bootie.

Materials:

*Size G hook
*4-ply yarn in white and contrasting color, or make in solid color.
*Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)

Pattern Notes:

Shell: 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same stitch
Hint: Hint.....the first 9 rows will always start with a sc and end with a dc.

Directions: Ch 31 with white.

Row 1: sc in second ch from hook, dc in next ch. *sc in next ch, dc in next ch* across.

Rows 2 - 6: Ch 1 turn, *sc in first stitch, dc in next stitch * across.

Row 7: ss in first 6 stitches. (sc, in next stitch and dc in the next stitch) 9 times.....leaving the last 6 stitches unworked.

Row 8 & 9: ch 1 turn, * sc in first stitch, dc in next stitch* across

Row 10: repeat row 8 changing color in last stitch. (leave enough tail in white to sew bootie together...approx 20")

Row 11: ch. 3 turn (does NOT count as first stitch) dc in first stitch, ch 1, dc 2 times more in the same stitch...(makes shell) *Then skip a stitch and sc in next stitch. skip a stitch and work shell in next stitch* across to last stitch and sc in it. Finish off .... sew together with right sides facing ........ Weave in ends.

Added Note: Can be worn with top up or turned down. Add bow with ribbon or yarn by chaining 60 with an F hook (as shown).
