On the Creek Bank...
... to meditate on the creek bank you follow the trail down thru the woods. Slowly walking the trail is a meditation in itself. In the spring you will notice flowers, fossil rocks, beautiful tree stumps and wild leeks (good eating). Follow the trail thru the low lands where the wild Iris and Skunk cabbage grow. Be mindful of the wild roses they love to snag you. Look for the screen room setting on the edge of the creek. Have a seat and enjoy your meditation. Watch for the Heron to fly by now and then...

Under the Apple Trees...
...sit or recline on the chaise under the apple trees and enjoy the smell of the flowers on the Magnolia or the Apple blossoms when they are in full bloom. You can hear the bees buzzing as they are doing their thing pollinating the flowers. This is a time of year when the woodpeckers can be heard very clearly before the trees leaf out. Energy from the vortex will lift your spirits when you are down... From this location you can look to your left and see the Hosta garden under a small grove of pine trees to which a trail of hearts has been added to take you to a bench and another vortex to experience...

... sit and enjoy the sound of water trickling down the rocks of the rock garden, while you watch the pollywogs and baby gold fish. You become mesmerized as they play hide and seek under the water lily. If you look closely you will see some very large frogs sunning themselves. The overhanging weeping willow talks to you as you sit and release your tensions to mother nature in the shade of the Japanese tree hydrangea... (Special Thanks to Janice for helping with the rock garden; those rocks were very heavy for the two of us to move...)

Sandy's Garden....
...pass thru the heart-shaped wrought iron arbor at the edge of the woods where the English ivy insists on growing along the ground instead of up the arbor. Straight ahead is a Purple Smoke Tree, step to the side and you can see Sandy's Garden... A Very Large double tree stump cut off high above the ground covered with Fungus. Sandy planted white Bleeding Hearts when she created the garden in the crotch of the tree stump. Wild Columbine grow all around the tree in early spring, their little yellow and orange faces are a real joy after a long winter of no colors. This is the area where Sandy loves to sit, draw and write poetry. This area is on the path to the wind mill... |

Barb's Bank
...this wild state of Mother Nature has been tenderly cared for by Barb for several years now. She gets the mower, weed whacker, pruners, etc and heads for the creek bank. She prefers to work alone, on what she feels is a sacred place to her, most of the time. Sometimes the grass is taller than she is. She parks herself in an old lawn chair and communes with nature; taking time to say good bye to the phlox, wild roses, Iris, forget me nots and what ever else might be blooming; enjoying the sun and the wind in the trees. Then she gets started and we reap the benefits of her labor each time we go to the creek area. She has always dreamed of a boat dock and canoe. This is Barb's sacred place of healing... |
