Description:
While Ania and Diego dream of a life together, theirs are not the only plans being made. Rodríguez also has a plan. The capitán has merely to wait for all the pieces of his trap to come within his grasp. Finally a man from Ania's past provides just the key Rodríguez needs to lay a trap that could prove deadly for both Zorro and Ania.
Disclaimer:
The characters of Diego/Zorro, Bernardo, Don Alejandro, Tornado, Padre Felipe, Sergeant García, and Corporal Reyes are not my own creations. They have been gratefully borrowed from the WD series. The characters of Ania Valdéz, Capitán Tristán Rodríguez, Carlos de Irujo, Ramón Cordoba, Brisa and Pepe Mería, Rosita, Tomás, Nico, Ventura, and any other non-WD character found in this story are my creations. Again, if you wish to borrow any of them, please talk to me first.
A note from the Author:
This is the third and final section of the Forge Trilogy, and therefore, shares the slight time shift of the other two sections. The story opens in 1818, in late spring. Probably two to three weeks have passed since the end of "Anvil of Iron".
I tried to give a sense of what some of the Spanish colonial marriage customs were during Zorro's time. The list used in this story is by no means complete. There would have been at least one other dowry passed between the two people and families involved. For those of you interested in learning more about these customs, following this story I will give addresses for some of the web sites that I used for my information.
Thanks:
My thanks again go to Sianny Schira, Sue Kite and el Zora for reading along and keeping me straight. I could not have had three better beta readers! Your encouragement and friendship have meant more than anything. I also want to thank Jennifer Schooley for all the help she gave me with the research for "Ring of Fire". Without her help, old Duh! here would probably still have been stumbling from one site to the other. Muchas gracias to all of you!
