Born Aaron Yates, Tech was first christened the name Tech N9ne by a hometown gangsta named Wee Capone. As a child, he was raised in a strict religious household by a Muslim stepfather and a Christian mother.
Tech's skills caught the attention of a girl named Tanya who invited him to join her at a rap convention in New Orleans. This Tanya is the person that came to be known as Sole. This is where Tech got his first break by hooking up with longtime collaborator Icy Rock.
Then he met with producer Don Juan. This meeting led to many tracks from Tech produced by Don Juan. He started experimenting with his music with such things as rhyming backwards. But this relationship proved to not last forever. Tech left Don Juan and JCOR and started Strange Music where he recently released Absolute Power. |
