Hip hop had it's beginnings in New York City, specifically in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Break dancers known as B-boys, DJ's who made playing a record an art form, and lyricists all contributed in bringing Hip Hop to the forefront. In the 25 years that the culture known as Hip Hop ahas existed, it has already had three eras.
