Featured Artist of the week:
Every so often a rapper can come along and have a very powerful impact. 5 years ago it was Eminem.11 years ago it was 2Pac.Today it's 50 Cent."Get Rich or Die Tryin" is one of the best albums as of late. It is a classic.Come on now it's already breaking records with 872,000+ copies in a week! In the streets he's number 1 and on the charts he's number 1. Alot of failed deals as allowed this diamond in the dust to be hidden for so long. After killing the streets with albums like "Power of the Dolla" and "Guess Who's Back?!" 50 Cent held the streets down. On "Get Rich" 50 tells the stories of the 'hood.Actually he tells movies of the 'hood. He also keeps his beef with Ja Rule very alive. On "Back Down" 50 gets Ja where it hurts, with rhymes like 'Yo mami yo papi and that bitch you chasin/Yo lil dirty ass kids Ill fuckin erase 'em".Also at the end he has skit with Ja's supposed homosexual lover,Delicous. Also on the record breaking album is the white people favorite "In Da Club". Don't get me wrong it's tight but them white folk is lovin it. 50 also got old favorites "U Not Like Me" and "Life 's On The Line" from previous albums. Also on the album is the 8 Mile single "Wanksta". Eminem gives an ok apperance on "Patiently Waiting" and "Don't Push Me".Tony Yayo,Young Buck, and Lloyd Banks of G-Unit make apperances. The album has its downside filler tracks like "21 Questions" and "High All The Time" but is relatively a very good album. If I was an editor at The Source I'd give the album 5 Mics. But itll never be reveiwed in The Source because Benzino is being a bitch. My suggestion for all who are in search of new bangin CDs go cop "Get Rich or Die Tryin" and any other 50 Cent joints you find.
