August 3rd, 2009.
That was the last time that people have seen Tyrone Kidd. At the Deadly Games PPV, in the official Steel Country of the world… Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was on that very day when he and Ravi Moon faced the terrible twosome of Angel and Elissia aka The Coven in the dreaded Steel Cage match. Both teams brought their A games and were rather relentless in the battle of the UWF Tag Team Championship. Blood, sweat and tears were shed but in the end, when Tyrone Kidd thought that he had the victory well in hand, Ellisia Toretto pulls what some would say controversial move and was able to vacate the cage before him and became a two time champion.
Now a lot of people have been talking about the aftermath of that match. And it’s effect on the participants. To Ellisia, the Tag titles victory were just the beginning as later on that night, she became Mrs. Gary Reece.
Angel, although she is happen wearing gold for the second time in her short stint in UWF has turned rather cold to the rest of the world. No one knows what’s next for her as well as for her relationship with ‘Pretty’ Ricky Stanton.
Ravi was able to turn the other cheek… slightly. Even though he was very bitter about their short title reign, the next week on UWF television he was able to pull out a secret Ace out of his sleeve, a long forgotten Universal title shot from back in the days when he won Money in the Bank. The only thing that people are wondering is when exactly is his going to cash it in.
But that only leaves one person… where is Tyrone Kidd? The man who shook the world when he announced that he has Serena agreed to join Manifest Destiny. This same guy who declared himself the mouth of the group? The guy that says that he is the whole damn show… and then some?
At first it wasn’t a big deal, the next week he had a match set up with Torretto as a way of pay back for Deadly Games. But after an unusually quiet week, when the time came for the match… he was nowhere to be found.
‘Tyrone Kidd… A no-show?’
That definitely got the bloggers rolling. Rumors were flying everywhere about what happened to ‘The Show’ Tyrone Kidd. Stories rolling from Kidd being too hurt to actually participate in the match… to Kidd getting ready to take his natural Leave of Absence were spread out to the masses. There was even a rumor saying that Tyrone Kidd was just hiding for the rest of the world in disarray because of the way he lost the tag team titles. But yet through all of this… the question still remains… do any of these rumors have any amount of truth behind them?
Well it’s a month later and yet there is still no sight of the gentlemen known to proudly be the “UnKrowned King”… that is until this week. You see this week on Adrenaline, Kidd’s home away from his home… errr…. well… away from his home, he was announced by commanding officer, Chris Slater on the card to face off against newcomer ‘Iceberg’ Billy Rodgers. Now even thought that looks very good on paper, there is only one big question that remains in the balance…
…
Will Tyrone Kidd even show up to Toronto, Canada? Hell! Is The Show even alive?!
Well ladies and gentlemen…
… LET THE SHOW BEGIN!!!
The camera fades in at Los Angeles, right off of one of the notorious airports in the country L.A.X. It’s a partly cloudy day out but that doesn’t stop the ongoing traffic of people walking around and airplanes taking off and landing. To the side of this massive landing field is a smaller strip with a couple big barns made for the rich crowd to store their private jets. Surround by a barbed wire gate and grade A security at the main gate, it seems this is used by everybody who is somebody is the business of Hollywood.
Looking up in the sky, there is a black jet in the distance carefully making its decline onto the landing strip. As it comes closer and closer, the little details become more and more clear. The first thing that is noticeable is the emblem. Usually there is the company’s symbol displayed in big print on the sides of the planes. However, this plane instead has the number five followed by a star in a big font with the words ‘Talent Agency’ under it in small letters. Once the plane’s tires hit the pavement, massive amount of smoke and dust appears from the ground as the brakes are being pulled back to bring it to a stop. Once it gain control, the black jet moves and follow a guy dressed in orange with lights to storage spot marked number five.
Inside of the storage space, besides the other planes, are a table a couple chairs, the cameraman, and Adrenaline’s colour commentator, Peter Curtis. Usually this would be a job for one of the backstage interviewer or reporters of the UWF but with the possibilities that this could a breaking story, the company brought one of the big guns to get to the center of everything. A couple minutes after jet has come to a stop, the door flies open and creates a set of stairs for people to get out. First to come out is Kidd’s number one client and good friend, Michael. He has on a white American Eagle shirt with a pair of jeans and black shades on. Right after Michael is the man people have been worrying about for the last month of so…, Tyrone Kidd. Walking down the stairs with a confident strut, he has on black suit with glasses on, and his traditional Kangol hat to cover his head. He takes a look at the table made for him and delivers a welcoming grin while waving at the direction of Peter. The crew politely waves back as he makes it down the stairs and to the ground. As he is about to make his way to the group, his buddy Michael moves toward him and stops him for the moment. “Hey Ty. Do you really think that this is a good idea?” Kidd looks at his friend and simply smiles in his direction and pats him on the shoulder. “Mike, my boy, the people want to know where I’ve been. And let’s be honest… I can’t let my people down.” Mike looks at him and just shakes his head. “Smart ass…” “And you wouldn’t like me any other way.” With the little chat aside he makes his approach to the table where Peter Curtis is sitting there waiting for him. Once there, they shake hands and Kidd makes his way to the other seat that is occupied for him. He gets himself situated on the seat and gives a nod to the camera crew to let them know that he is ready. The camera guy gives the thumbs up to Peter and he prepares himself for the interview ahead. “… Good afternoon people of the UWF fan base. I am color commentator Peter Curtis and today I am bringing to you, the viewer, a very special session. With me tonight is one half of Manifest Destiny and former tag team champion ‘The Show’ Tyrone Kidd. ” “It’s nice to see that I received the red carpet treatment… well without the paparazzi… and well… the red carpet… you get the point.” “Ha ha. I understand. Now we have a lot to cover, from your return match this week on Adrenaline against ‘Iceberg’ Billy Rodgers to knowing whats going to be your plans for the immediate future. But I think both you and me know what is the first thing that everyone wants to know… where have you been this last month?” Kidd takes a moment to laugh a little bit and grabs a bottle of water to drink from. After a couple swallows, he clears his thought and puts the bottle on his lap. “Well now... if I thought that I was going to bounce back onto the wrestling scene without properly explaining my surprising leave of absence then that would be just absurd. The question is do you guys really have the time to listen what I have to say?” “Well this is your time. I mean you did request this segment to talk to your people.” He looks at Peter and nods before starting his explanation. “Now we all know what happened the last time you saw in the squared circle. Manifest Destiny was tag champions defending our titles in an ongoing saga trapped in a steel cage. And to make a long story short, we lost. Now some people say that they were luck or I was screwed or whatever but, in the end there is no real excuses. We lost and in many ways… I dropped the ball…” “… And that’s why u left?” “Hell no. That was the tip. You see after giving blood, sweat, and tears to keep my half of the titles, I sat in my locker room considering the next step for Manifest Destiny. Maybe we can do what we originally had planned. Watch each other back as we made our way to the top of the federation. Give the Spice Girls their time in the sun and look forward to put us up in a different way than just a tag team. I thought that this was the plan… until the next week when I was put back into the ring with Ellissa Torretto. All I saw was a reoccurring cycle. I was in a circle and a direction that was going nowhere.” “So you lost your match and didn’t get things going your way so you decided to take you ball and go home?” Kidd looks at him weirdly because he knew what Peter was trying to do. He was trying to say whatever he could and twist the story to what he sees fit in order to get a deeper response to the question. That was his job. Still Kidd remained cool and focuses on not sweating for the camera. “It’s funny how you work Peter. No that was not the reason. However, I had to jump back and think. Think if everything that I have done was the reason I came back. If this was actually what I wanted to do. So what I did was talked to Mr. Slater and took a sabbatical. A sudden one to clear my thoughts. And when I thought the time was right and I knew what I wanted to do,I will once again make my presence and make it look like I never left. And for the unfortunate people that were under a rock this whole time, the time is this Tuesday.” “And you might have not picked a better time to come back to the UWF. In your way this week is new blood ‘Iceberg’ Billy Rodgers…” Tyrone Kidd looks at Peter with a strange look. He raises his eyebrow in disbelief before saying anything. “What is this? Is this some kind of superstar initiative?!” “Actually Rodgers had himself quite the impressive showing last week on the show. He is doing a good job riding the momentum from one match to the other.” “Really. Who did he happen to beat last week anyway?” “… Jackson ‘Cell Block’ Walker.” Tyrone lets out a chuckle at the sound of his name. “Really?” “Yeah.” “You gotta be joking! I can go to the local elementary school to find three little ass kids and they can take out little old Cellie for free.” Kidd takes a glance in the direction of the camera. “Note to you Walker. Just because you decided to be cool and use you’re government name, doesn’t make you a better wrestler. It just gives the coroner a better chance to identify the dead body.” “Back to Rodgers… What do you have to say in retaliation to his comments toward you earlier this week?” Sensing a little bit of animosity, Kidd decides to try and attempts to lighten the mood. He slowly gets up from his seat and proceeds to start clapping. He lets out a classic grin as he continues clapping for about ten seconds before sitting back down. A frustrated Peter looks at him in confusion. “Was that necessary?” Kidd looks back at him, still smiling. “My good man, of course that was.” “How so?” “See if you just try not to be so aggressive and actually develop some patience, it would be explained for you. Remember Curtis… silence is golden.” Kidd turns his head back to the screen. “Now before I was rudely interrupted. That applause was for you Billy. Welcome to the UWF, junior. Now, as we all have seen, you obviously met our welcoming mat. Yes, he is kinda beat up and dusty but we love Walker none the less. But, you see, the time for fun and making statements are over for you. Because this week, you’re facing the measuring stick of the UWF. Now it’s nice to know that you were brought up in this business to have respect for your opponents but this week it’s not needed. This Tuesday is not a friendly exhibition, it’s a statement match. It is a match for you to prove yourself. And it’s a match that I have to prove to the upper management.” “Upper management?” “Yes, Peter. You see, Billy I already know your position. Billy Rodgers, a guy walking into the federation with promise to become something here. You come here trying to make a statement to the boys in the back by beating whoever comes in front of you. Am I right? You figure if you try hard enough and knock down the right people, you will solidify your spot onto the roster. Maybe get yourself in title contention and eventually become a champion in your own. Are you still with me Billy boy? You see Mr. Rodgers this is what I mean by this match is to prove yourself. You, like any other hustler in about everything in life, are just trying to do whatever you need to keep yourself afloat. And I respect that...” Kidd grabs his bottle from his lap and takes another couple drinks from it before covering it and placing it back down. He tells the camera to zoom in closer on him. “But see, where we differentiate is the fact that I’ve already done it. I’ve already made myself a household name in the UWF and I have tasted gold so far in my short stint here. Tyrone Kidd is the name of the up and comer looking for the next opportunity that strikes not the person who is looking to become the name. People from Jackson Walker to Darren Revel and so on have BEEN looking my way already because well... they should. See, I have spent my time pulling away the weeds of the new superstars and pushed myself forward as somebody to look out for. And even though I haven’t been around for the last month, it actually makes me a much more dangerous person. MUCH more. ‘Cause the fellow wrestlers can not fathom what is going through my head. What direction I will take? In the mind of Tyrone Kidd… who is friend or foe? Hell, even the upper management and Chris Slater is wondering what’s going on. Hence this match on Tuesday. This match is for me to prove to them where I stand in the midst of the bodies of wrestlers in this federation.” “So what about his off comments about interference in his match this week?” “I will put it as plain and simple as I can. I have made it this far up the ranks with any type of politicking. No cheap Money In The Bank scheme. No smooching the boss. No he say she said. And for my troubles, I have yet to have been pinned or submitted. It seems now with the fall of Zoey Swan, that I am probably the only superstar left that can say that. I have done all this my way and with cheap tactics. I don’t need the help of anyone to beat anyone and that is because I have the god giving talent to beat anyone on my best or worst night. So Mr. Rodgers, if you were worried about some dirty underhand tactic in order to beat you… I don’t need to. I’m already gifted enough talent wise to handle you. But, my friend, if you are so desperate to want something to be aware of. To beware of. Come Adrenaline… Beware of the LIGHTS. Beware of the CAMERA. And I will show you first hand Iceberg, that as cold as you might come off as… you need… to beware of the ACTIONS of The Show… fool! ” With the end of those words Kidd grabs the bottle off of his lap and gets up to go head out the doors. As he walks to meet up with his partner, Peter sits there looking at Kidd from a distance before realizing something that he was missing. He gets up from his seat tells the camera man to follow him and Peter runs to try and catch up with Tyrone Kidd. “Tyrone…. Tyrone!” As Michael and Tyrone start talking and make their way to the exit, up comes a running Peter Curtis heading his way. When Peter get to a close enough distance, he tries to spew out something. “Tyrone, what’s going on with you and Ravi Moon?” Suddenly, Kidd stops at his track like he heard something specific that forced him too. He looks over his shoulder to see Peter Curtis and the cameraman looking at him with the microphone pointed at him. Kidd focus his eyes in the direction of Peter in a bit of rage. “. . .” Kidd continues to walk to his car as Peter Curtis just stands there confused at what just happened. After a while Peter just turns around and looks at the camera. “Oh ok. Well that is all from here at L.A.X. I’m Peter Curtis and I’ll see you fans at Adrenaline.” :: End Scene ::
