C. Leon aka Ceaza Leon was born on October 17, 1984 in Toronto, Ontario. He was born in the Dufferin & Lawrence area of North York, known to many people around the city as “Jungle.” This is where he took his love for music and desire to be heard to another level.

"Hip Hop to me is the voice of the street, whether it be the struggle or the bling bling lifestyle. As emcees I think it’s our jobs to show the world what happens around us,” says C. Leon on his beloved art form. “No other genre of music is like Hip Hop. Hip Hop is from the street, it speaks on issues everyone can relate to in different situations.” Along with his crew The Commitee (El Nino, Cha Dizzy, & Choice) his inspiration he shares with many other Canadian Hip Hop artists, being heard across the border and accepted by our down south neighbours is a prized goal. “The Canadian Hip Hop scene is still growing, I see it going in a very positive direction, but I'm looking for global success.” C. Leon is determined to be heard, and is set out to bring his strong charisma and powerful delivery to the whole Hip Hop world.

Songwriting for over 10 years and being co-owner of Battle Ground Entertainment for 2, it’s hard to say that C. Leon is just another “rapper.” His music is who he is; he almost walks you through periods in his life in every song. “I call my music raw, it’s just what it is, I can’t water it down, I can only speak what I know.” His musical influences include, the late Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Juvenile, Wu-Tang, and Nas. Like those artists he hopes to give people music they can grasp and almost live out.

The man also known, as “The Answer” is a strong believer in “Hard work pays off in the end,” so he takes pride not only in his rapping ability, but also in his beat making skill and position at Battle Ground Entertainment. “Learning how to rap was easy, I had to put work into my production skills, but now they’re getting to a point where people can’t believe I made a certain beat.” You can feel the passion that he has when asked about his company, “I executive produce every release we put out. We’ve released the “West End Ryderz Compilation” in association with Freeborn Records, also El Nino’s “M.V.P. Mixtape.” I produced 2 songs on the CD (“Hard Times” & “Holla”). I also help out with marketing for the party and promotions side of the company. I think we have one of the best Dj’s in the city in Mr. Kickz, he’s only 17.” Having produced for many artists throughout the city of Toronto, and being a part of one of the biggest party and promotion teams in the all-ages market, it’s difficult to say hard work doesn’t pay off.

C. Leon is the new generation of Hip Hop that needs to be heard. Set to release his own mixtape titled, “Questions & Answers” featuring exclusive freestyles and original material in early 2005, his no play attitude and work ethic can only be an asset to his already well-rounded skill. This young man demands to be heard and rightly so, with a vision as sharp as his, it's only a matter of time before people across the world are talking about C. Leon.
