Task: To plan an overseas journey and keep track of your
financial records.
Process:
q You will be allocated a budget of
$6000 and have to plan an overseas trip taking in four different countries with
a specific time frame of four weeks. You need to keep records of how you
spend your ‘money’.
q You will need to ‘buy’ all
the necessary clothes, bags, visas, immunizations, travel insurance, passports
etc. This means you will need to research your intended destinations to
find out such information as the weather, currency etc. Use catalogues
from a variety of retail outlets to buy your travel requirements.
q Use the Australian Government’s
websites to discover the need for visas, immunizations, travel warnings
etc. Links to these websites can be found at the web address www.angelfire.com/hiphop3/ardross
q At each location that you travel to
you are required to research certain facts: currency, language spoken,
capital cities, flags, major tourist attractions and major geographic
features. You will also need to send a postcard home to your parents from
each location. On each of these postcards you must mention two local
attractions as well as the weather conditions. Don’t forget to
write the date on your postcards (and tell your parents how much you love them
and miss them- don’t bother asking for more money!)
q You must keep a travel diary which you
must update daily on your trip.
q You will need to keep track of
your finances using Star ******* on the computer.
Follow the correct method on the website.
q You will need to record the Internet
sites you used to get information.
q You will be required to present your
trip to the class.
q You will be involved in the evaluation
of your work and reflect on problems you encountered and how you felt you
“travelled”.
