Balance is a design that places elements on the page so the text and
graphic’s are evenly distributed. You want balance so that the page does
not seem to tilt to one side or the other. |

Proportion refers to the size of one part relating to the size of
another part. It also refers to how the size of one part relates to the
size of a whole item. |

Indicates
a type of movement in an artwork, often by repeated shapes or colors.
Occurs when two elements are different. The greater the difference, the
greater the contrast. The key is to make sure they are obvious. |

Contrast is a design that refers to differences in values, colors,
textures, and other elements in artwork to create interest to the viewer.
It’s also created when two elements are different, if they are not then you
should make them very different. |

Unity
is a design that leads to visual logic. This principle directs the artist
to control the many levels of visual organization within artwork by
grouping principles. |
