SueQueen's Page

Yokwe im Welcome to my site. My name is Sue “SueQueen” Mayo. I was born in Alabama and lived there until 1990 when I moved to the beautiful island of Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. Kwaj has become my home where I enjoy skurfing(wakeboarding), playing basketball, soccer, volleyball, and softball, going on boat cruises to Bigej and other islands, fishing, hanging out at the beach, watching Kwaj Sunsets, spending time with my family and friends at Kwaj, going to Ebeye for jambo (cruise) with my friends. I have been learning the Marshallese language informally for the past few years and enjoy participating in Marshallese cultural events. After graduating from Kwaj High in 1999, I attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where I earned my Bachelor's in 2003 in International Relations with a minor in Planning & Development. I am now attending graduate school for Pacific Island Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In my first semester here in Hawaii I am already learning so much not only about the Pacific Islands and Oceania but more importantly about me and who I am.
