Supergirl to the rescue, she cried out in the night

That supergirl can pull it off, and make it look easy
But she didn't count reality when she formed her little plan
and how life can really mess with you, when your a mortal man
so she set him up for failure, and for anger and for pain
and didn't even listen when he begged her to refrain
from giving him everything that he felt no right to take
and letting him expose her to more sadness and heartbreak
so he did the only thing that a hero like him thinks of
he fought the dragon, slew the beast that frightened his dear love
And so she wasn't supergirl, you see, at all, in the end
Just lonely, sad, afraid and tired, and missing her best friend
